Chapter 44

Hawak-hawak lang ni Leo ang kaliwang kamay ni Sierra habang tahimik na nagdadrive. He never let her hand go even for a second.

Hindi rin nito sinabi kung saan sila pupunta, he just kept driving. Kalaunan, pansin ni Sierra ang paglayo nila sa syudad.

After a few more minutes, the signs of buildings and traffic slowly disappeared from their sight and Sierra can feel the fresh air.

They're out of the city and away from the busy streets and hectic works.

She can feel Leo's warm hands gently and tightly holding hers. Hindi siya nagsalita at tinugonan lamang ang mahigpit nitong paghawak sa kamay niya.

Panay ang sulyap niya kay Leo na maya-maya pa ay napansin din nito which he just answered with a smile.

Sierra felt sad looking at him earlier, getting mad and angry about what happened. Siguro mga 30 minutes ang byahe nila, the car stopped in a secluded area. Wala na masyadong mga kotse ang dumadaan sa paligid na yun pero hindi din naman dangerous zone.

Naunang lumabas si Leo at inalalayan siyang bumaba. Sa simpleng kilos na yun, sekretong bumilis ang tibok ng puso ni Sierra.

"We're here," unang  salita na narinig niya mula kay Leo simula pa kanina.

Naglakad sila ilang metro mula sa kotse patungo sa sementong pader na hanggang hita ang haba.

Hindi makapaniwala si Sierra. She's in awe for the beauty of what's in front of her. Napatingin siya kay Leo na nakatingin din pala sa kanya.

"Wow."

Tumango ito.

Lumapit sila sa pader saka niya naramdaman ang kamay ni Leo sa bewang niya, lifting her up to sit on the cement. Sumunod ito sa kanya at umupo sa tabi niya.

Below them are the beautiful city lights. Nakakapigil hininga ang ganda na nakikita ni Sierra. She felt peaceful and overjoyed by what she's currently seeing.

"This is really beautiful Leo." Hindi niya napigilan sabihin. Ngumiti ito sa sinabi niya.

"I always go here whenever things doesn't go my way. It calms me just by looking at this scenery."

Sierra sighed heavily. It's so wonderful to look at. Nakakakalma ng utak, puso, at katawan.

"I guess this is one of those moments." Malungkot na sabi ni Leo at napayuko.

She can clearly hear him given that there's only the two of them at that precious place.

She wanted to hug him but she know he needed to release his anger and sadness. He needed to calm his mind.

"I am so disappointed with myself." Sabi nito maya-maya.

"Leo..."

"I've let Nico ruin the day. I couldn't do anything. I don't want you to see this part of my life Sierra." Her heart clenched by his words.

"Nadamay ka pa sa away naming dalawa--"

"Leonard, you did nothing wrong. It's not your fault. At isa pa hindi natin alam na mangyayari yun, na bibisita pala ang step-brother mo." Mahigpit niyang hinawakan ang kamay ni Leo.

"And I can take care of myself Leo so don't worry too much about me." Tumingin ito sa mga mata niya.

"I know you're a strong woman Sie, and I admire that from you--" bumilis ang tibok ng puso niya.
