Chapter 49

"That went well." Sabi ni Leo habang papalakad sila sa hallway ng 2nd floor patungo sa private elevator ni Leo na katatapos lang nirenovate.

"That? Went well?" natatawa niyang tanong sa lalaki. Katatapos lang kaseng matapos ng isang emergency board meeting ng kompanya dahil may isang naglokong board of director na ginawang ppambayad ng pustahan ang pera ng kompanya.

Hininaan nga ni Sierra ang hearing aid niya habang nasa loob dahil sigaw at akusasyon lang ang tinatapon ng bawat isang miyembro sa isa't-isa. She was lip-reading while hearing a little bit of their voices while Leo was sitting silently on his swivel chair, observing everyone.

"Yeah, everything was sorted out." Natatawa nitong sabi nang makapasok na sila sa elevator.

"And three members of the board was gone. Inalis mo sila and fired them." Nagkibit-balikat lang ito.

"Well. . . It can't be helped. Alam naman natin ang tungkol dito---weeks ago---na may nangyayaring kabulastugan behind my back and we watched how they would fix this pero hindi nila nagawa. It's the best thing we can do." Tumingin lang siya kay Leo.

He really was born to lead and to be successful. Nakita niya kanina kung paano hinandle ni Leo ang sitwasyon. He was even smirking at the members while they're pointing fingers at each other. Akala nila hindi alam ni Leo ang nangyayari sa kompanya nito and she's proud of him.

"So the board meeting, done. Next schedule will be with the Aguzar Industries, they want you to be their publisher. Make a book about the life of Mr. Aguzar---story was written by Mr. Aguzar himself---"

"---that's nice."

"Yes, it's an hour from now. The Conquer magazine sent you a package as well as an invitation for it's event which you already know of." Tumango ito at papasok na sila sa opisina nito.

Inalalayan muna siya nito sa pagpasok at mismong nagbukas ng office door. She smiled at him at the same continued talking about the informations for his schedule.

"I already booked a reservation for the Aguzar Industries, checked your emails, and did the background checks for the five authors that we will meet two weeks from now." Umupo ito sa lamesa nito while holding her close to him.

"You are really working hard." Nakangiti nitong sabi and Sierra felt---as always---her heart race as she looked at his face.

"I need to. Strikto ang boss ko tsaka malaki ang sahod." She reached for his hair at sinuklay yun. Hinawakan nito ang kamay niya saka ito hinagkan.

Maya-maya ay tumitig ito sa kanya. Mga 30 seconds siguro tsaka ito nagpakawala ng buntong-hininga. Parang may gusto itong sabihin but decided no to talk about it.

"Ano yun? Pagod ka?" Nag-alala tuloy si Sierra.

Ngumiti si Leo at held her hands tightly.

"I'm just so lucky to have you here with me." Ayun na naman.

Everytime she hears him say and talk about his feelings, it makes her feel so powerful and happy. Minsan nga sa saya nalilito na siya kung normal pa ba yun. Yung pakiramdam na kumikirot yung puso niya sa saya.

Yung kapag dumarampi ang mga labi nito sa mga pisngi niya, parang may milyong boltahe ng kuryenteng biglang dumaloy sa buong katawan ni Sierra. Yung minsan nahihirapan na siyang huminga dahil sa abnormal na bilis ng tibok ng puso niya.

It's unbelievable and scary pero thankful siya tungkol doon.

Hindi lahat nakakaranas ng ganitong saya and that's why she's scared. She's scared she will lose this too.
