Frank castle will be the main character for this one as well as Matt. It doesn't necessarily go along with the show for parts, which I hope is understandable.

If you would like a full story (or more than these two parts) I have a completed story under the same name 'my life in red' which can be found on my profile. This was the original that sparked that book but the full story does not necessarily follow this exact story line.

"Matt you know I'm resourceful but I don't think I could get a good handle on this case."

"Please Y/N just try. We could really use you for something like this."

"Fine I give it two days and if we can't come up with at least one clue then I'm out. Besides Karen is way better at this stuff than me."

"It's a deal then, two days. If we find something, anything, then you help with the rest of the case."

"Fine."

I've been living with Matt for six months. Life was comfortable sometimes but who can really stay comfy when the vigilante your staying with could wind up dead at any moment. Aside from having to stitch him up constantly and getting blood out of most of his clothes from busted stitches he really wasn't hard to live with. At this point in our relationship I saw him as a good friend, not a dad or anything but someone I could trust and could keep me safe if the event arose. A caretaker. And a good one at that. It was true he kept me on my toes, training me to fight just in case and dragging me back and forth to his office to help with clientele. For the most part He let me do as I pleased and never pressured me to do anything other than training to keep me safe. He liked to push boundaries and didn't open up very well. He would push and push and push trying to train me. We both gained a mutual trust but neither of us knew each other's back stories, not completely. He liked to keep secrets but I guess we had that in common.

Matt and I were walking side by side on the way to the office. It was a cloudy day but the weather was nice. I enjoyed watching the wind blow Matt's hair across his fourhead as we walked. We talked casually about the upcoming case, and about what we would end up eating for dinner, and if Josie would let me into the bar after hours since I was nineteen. I laughed at something Matt said when someone grabbed my arm and pulled me into an alley. I was ready to throw a punch when I realized it was Frank castle. All I heard was Matt calling my name, hitting his Cane across the sidewalk. Frank looked at me with pleading eyes and I was afraid of what would happen if Matt caught me with him. I whispered softly hoping Matt's sonar hearing wouldn't pick up right away.

"Stay here, I'll text you where to meet me but I have to take care of something."

Frank nodded and watched me find Matt from the alleyway. When I walked back over to Matt he seemed beyond worried.

"Y/N what the hell was that? What Happened?"

"It's nothing, I'm sorry. I just stopped walking, it's fine. I got a message from a friend who needs me."

"Oh Y/N you can't leave now."

"I'm sorry Matt I've got to, its a serious matter that I have to help take care of."

"Let me go with you, I could help."

"No. Um, no you don't need to, it's.... something I have to do alone. I'll call you if I need anything or if I can't come home tonight for whatever reason, I promise."

"We really need you on this case I hope you know."

"You and i both know that's bull."

We both laughed for a second.
