"Ricky stop pulling."

He rolled his eyes and moved his arm closer to me.

"Do you really do this every day?"

I sent him a look before going back to what I was doing, going over my light renderings.

"Of course I do."

I kept moving papers around and fiddling with the switches, looking up to see the light pattern move.

"I didn't know it took this much work."

I looked over at him quickly before looking back at the stage.

"This is why Logan hired me. I have light patterns for each song you guys play. If you add anything to the set that I don't have a rendering for then I make a new one."

"I guess I never really noticed. I'm so worried about playing I don't take the time to see what the lights are doing."

I flipped a switch and the lights started moving around the stage the way I had timed them.

"And that's why people don't appreciate techies. And I don't mean the musically inclined ones."

I looked at him and he looked down.

"Yeah I guess you're right, but I can say I appreciate it much more now, specially since I have to be in the booth with you tonight."

"Thanks I guess."

I watched intently at the stage, making sure they moved the way I had drawn them out. Everything was perfect now. When the four minutes was over I turned everything off and gathered all my stuff into a neat stack.

"Alright, I'm set till show time, we can head back to the bus now."

We both stood up and I hummed. Ricky wasn't much taller than me but the height definitely made a difference. The cuffs were too tight and it was rubbing my wrist wrong.

"What's wrong?"

He asked and I looked down, slightly pushing the cuff and showing a red line.

"Oh, well uh, wanna hold hands then? It'll take the pulling away."

I nodded.

"As long as you don't hate me too much to hold my hand."

I joked and he shook his head.

"I don't hate you y/n,"

He took my hand and we walked out of the booth.

"Sometimes we just don't see eye to eye."

I looked up at him as we made out way backstage.

"Then why are we always fighting? If you don't hate me, and I don't hate you, why are we always at each other's throats?"

He shrugged.

"I honestly don't know. Cause I thought you hated me too but if that's not the case we really have no good reason to fight all the time. You're actually pretty cool."

I smiled up at him.

"I think you're pretty cool to Rick."

He nodded in agreement.

"So do you think we can act a little more like friends now? I mean I don't wanna be mean to you on purpose, that's stupid."

I laughed and squeezed his hand.

"I'd like that a lot Ricky."

"I think the rest of the crew would like that too."

Said a voice from behind us and we both turned to see the man who had cuffed is together this morning.

"You!"

I shouted and he laughed at us, walking slowly in our direction. We backed up little by little until we hit the end of the hallway.

"You're not gonna run are you?"

Ricky and I exchanged glances and shrugged at him.

"Well I'd hope not, specially if you want those off."

He pointed at the cuffs and we both looked down at our interlocked hands.

"Why did you do this to begin with?"

Ricky asked.

"Because, you two never shut the hell up. I'm so sick of you two being in your own little world and bickering back and forth at each other."

"So you locked us together because?"

I sent me a look like I was stupid.

"So you two would finally work out your differences. And clearly it worked or else I don't think you'd be this chill holding each other's hand."

I stepped a little forward.

"Okay, you've made your point, and we've decided to be friends now. Can you take these off? We've got shit to do."

He laughed.

"You're so impatient."

Ricky stepped up to meet me.

"Dude we've got a show to play."

The man held his hands up in defense.

"Alright, alright, here."

He tossed the key at us and I caught it, staring at him for a second.

"Aren't you gonna take them off?"

He asked and I hesitated, could it really be that easy? I watched him before bringing our hands up and unlocking Ricky first. He laughed in relief and rubbed his wrist. Then I unlocked mine and the cuffs clattered to the floor. I sighed and rubbed my red wrist. When we both looked up the man had vanished. We looked around.

"Where did he go?"

Ricky shrugged.

"I don't know, he couldn't have gotten far."

I looked down to pick the cuffs up but they were gone too.

"Rick."

I said, pointing. His eyes went wide and he sent me a look.

"What the?"

I held the key up and it started burning my fingers until I dropped it and shook my hand out. Then it disappeared too.

"How the hell?"

We looked at each other for a second.

"We should go."

He nodded.

"Yeah I think you're right."

He grabbed my hand and we took off down the hall to the dressing rooms. This was the weirdest day we've all had in a while and we had no explanation on what happened. Like how the hell were we supposed to tell the rest of the guys that some man magically cuffed us and uncuffed us together?
