It had been a slow Saturday around the house. Loki and I had both been sat around all day reading different books and it was getting pretty late. We decided to stay in due to the scheduled snow. Something that I had been long awaiting. Everytime I finished a couple of chapters, got up to eat, or got up to stretch I would check outside. There had still been no snow and I was beginning to think it wasn't coming.

I sat on my bed under a pile of blankets trying to finish this story. It was getting intense but only had a few pages left and I was beyond antsy. When I finally finished it I groaned at the ending and slammed the hard back book on my nightstand. I grumbled as a ran the ending through my head, how could the author do that? It was no matter though, I would start a new book and completely forget the heartache I had after reading that.

I rubbed my eyes and swung my bare legs over the side of the bed. I shivered for a second before grabbing a fuzzy blanket from the pile and wrapping it around my shoulders. As I stood and walked down the hall the Hem drug the floor, collecting a few dust bunnies and sweeping them along with me. I reached the end of the hall and found Loki sitting in the window box, reading intently. I trudged slowly to him and sat across from him, putting butt half on the seat and half not due to his feet being in the way. I read the cover of the book he was reading and when I tilted my head to get a good look at the picture he peered up at me.

"Is there something I can help you with?"

"Oh, no, I just finished my book and thought maybe you could use some company."

Loki didn't say anything, he just looked at me and turned the page to continuing reading. I looked from him to the edge of the cushioned bench we shared and fiddled with my blanket cape. I started slipping off the bench so i scooted my butt a little further onto it. Loki just sighed and pulled his legs up into a criss cross position. I slid my body to fit completely on and mumbled to him.

"Thanks."

He just kept reading. I scanned the living room of the small house we lived in and made some mental notes to tidy up a bit. I huffed and leaned back against the curtained window. The cold pressed through the curtain, my blanket, and my shirt. I shivered and turned around to look outside. I gasped loudly causing loki to look up at me in surprise.

"For the love of-"

"Look! Loki it's snowing!"

He glared at me before putting a book mark on his page and pulling the curtain back a little.

"That it is, now are you going to let me read or-"

"Oh no, we are gonna watch the snow."

I got up from my place and turned the side lamp off so there wouldn't be a glared on the window. When I returned to the bench I pulled the curtains completely open so we could watch the small flakes dance through the air. I kneeled on the soft cushion, gently placing my hands on the top of the bottom window (the part that slides and locks it). Loki just kept glaring at me through the dark.

"Oh come on Loki, you could at least humor me."

He rolled his eyes.

"Why?"

"Because this is the first snow of the season!"

"If I wanted to see snow I could just return to jotenheim."

I looked over to him and stuck my tongue out. I turned my gaze back to the falling flakes and stared in amazement. I missed this, sitting in my dark room at night watching the snow fall under the street lamps. There was something magical about it, and it always mezmerized me. I pressed my finger to the glass and pointed outside.

"Look it's starting to flurry!"

He turned to look from me to the outside world.

"Ha! See you care."

He crossed his arms over his chest and stood up, walking towards the couch.

"I do not."

I jumped down and caught him before he made it halfway. I grabbed his hand and led him back to the window.

"Come on, don't be a killjoy."

"Why do you insist on making me watch ice fall?"

I huffed at him.

"Because it's pretty and it makes me feel at home."

I stomped my foot and let go of his hand. He looked at me and raised an eyebrow.

"Look, I get the whole 'keeping your bad reputation' thing but you could at least not be an ass for five minutes. Watching the snow is something I enjoy and it's something I wanted to enjoy with you."

He didn't say anything so I just grabbed my blanket and made a step past him to my room. He grabbed my arm before I could pass him.

"Alright. Let's watch.....the snow fall."

He sighed and I jumped up and clapped in excitement.

"Really? You'll watch the snow with me?!"

He rolled his eyes.

"Sure."

"Yeee!"

I pulled him back to the window and kneeled the way I was before. I wasn't sure he would do it but he followed suit and kneeled the same as I did. It was weird seeing such a tall man do such a childish thing and I just giggled quietly to myself.

"What?"

"Oh it's nothing."

I kept looking outside, seeing the snow wall faster as time went by. I started watching individual flakes fall close to the window, picking one and watch it drop past the glass. I kneeled down a bit to watch one hit the ledge and almost fell back. Loki quickly placed a hand on my back to steady me, making a worried face.

"Thanks."

He just looked at me. I straightened up but his hand just slid across my back, reaching around me. He scooted closer and placed his hand on the window on the other side of my body, keeping me close to him. It was like he was making a lap bar on a roller coaster with his body, but ya know across my back. I looked up at him but he just kept looking out at 'the falling ice.' after a it an hour the ground was completely covered and the snow was slowing a bit. I turned to look at him and smiled.

"Thank you for sitting with me."

He slowly turned his gaze away from the window. His eyes scanned my whole face twice over. He stood and slowly padded across the living room floor. I got up, closed the curtains, and followed suit. When I reached the hall way with my blanket Loki stood in his doorway with his back to me.

"I wasn't sure why you wanted to watch the snow fall. It seemed beyond ridiculous......but it's like you said, it's beautiful and feels like home."

He didn't look at me the whole time he spoke, and when he finished he walked completely into his room and shut the door behind him. I half smiled and walked to my room on the other end of the hall. I don't know what memory he had of snow fall but I'm glad I could give that too him even for a short while. I closed my door slowly and got in bed under my pile of blankets. I breathed deep and turned out the light letting thoughts of the night flow through my head. Yeah, feels just like home.
