"Well of course not but why take the chance?"

Then there was a banging on the door and Chris immediately turned and locked the door again. He looked at me in panic.

"We know you're in there, if you want out-"

There was a pause and we waited.

"You're just gonna have to wait."

You could hear laughter and high fiving. I just rolled my eyes.

"Meat heads."

I pushed the window open.

"Come on, help me."

I whispered. He looked back at the door and then at me before giving up.

"Fine."

I stood on my tip toes, pushing my arms out the window and pulling myself up. He grabbed my legs and pushed me up until I was out enough to wiggle the rest of the way myself. I turned around and looked down at him.

"Come on."

I offered my hand. He climbed up onto the sink and followed suite, taking my hand and the two of us pulling him out the window. His leg got caught on the window latch and he pulled at it before ripping his jeans.

"Shit, my mom's gonna kill me."

I helped him to his feet.

"Nevermind that, we gotta get out of here."

I grabbed his hand and pulled him across the parking lot to my car.

"What about our backpacks and stuff?"

I paused before I opened the door and thought for a second.

"I've got it, we pull around front, I'll go get our stuff out of the hall, as far as they're aware we are still in that closet. We should be home free."

I looked down and let go of his hand before opening my car door. He climbed in to the other side and I got in after him, pulling the keys out of the glove box.

"That's how things get stollen."

He said. I sent him a look.

"True but it's also how we get the hell out of here."

I turned the car on and pulled out, up the hill and in front of the school.

"I'll be right back, don't go anywhere."

I walked in, seeing our bags still sat against the lockers untouched. I walked across the foyer and picked mine up, slinging it over my shoulder before picking up Chris's. I turned around to make my way back to the door when a teacher stopped me.

"Do you have a hall pass ms y/l/n?"

I paused and looked at her.

"Actually I got called out, my brother is sick and my mom can't get off work."

She crossed her arms over her chest and tapped her foot against the ground. I looked passed her to see one of the brutes walking towards us.

"In my day we just had to deal."

"That's nice Mrs Flinn but I really have to go."

"Fine, make sure you get your work from someone tomorrow."

I nodded.

"Will do Mrs Flinn, have a good day."

I walked quickly to the door and swung it open. I tossed our bags in the back before practically jumping in the driver seat.
