I turned around from locking my apartment door only to be met with a smirking Loki, towering above me. I grinned at him before tiptoeing and kissing his cheek lightly. When I retracted he still had a devilish smile plastered on his face. I just rolled my eyes and walked past him, jingling my keys as I paced quickly down the stairs. He followed closely behind me, tasked with keeping up to my fast pace (despite my height deficiency compared to him).

"Love, must you walk so fast?"

"I'm late Loki, I've got a meeting to get to."

I unlocked my car from a few feet away for easy access when I finally reached it. I placed my stuff in the backseat and when I turned to look at him before getting in the driver seat he had vanished. I sighed lightly and got in, I still had a meeting to get to whether he was here or not.

I walked through the door of my apartment and dropped all of my things in the chair by my front door. I huffed as I let my body slump into the couch, relieving it of the days stresses.

"How attractive."

I brought my hand to my head and rubbed my temples.

"I don't have the patience for this Loki."

I watched him walk up from behind me and place himself beside me on the couch.

"As comfy as you seem darling I need your assistance."

I rolled my eyes and sat all the way up.

"What do you need now?"

"Your safety."

I raised an eyebrow.

"Okay, now you've got my attention."

"I'm being hunted and the person that is hunting me just so happens to believe you to be my weakness."

"Am I?"

"What? No. That's beside the point. The point is that in order for you to be safe you must come with me."

I crossed my arms over my chest and smirked at him.

"If that's not the point then why do you need to protect me?"

He gave me a Stern glare.

"Just pack lightly and get ready to leave, you're lucky I got to you before they did."

I sat at a long table and watched Loki pace in front of me. He had taken me to a decently sized house on some planet whose name I couldn't pronounce. When he finally sat he stared at me, his elbows resting on the table and his hands folded. I mirrored his actions and gave him a Stern look before laughing and falling back into place in my chair. He didn't say anything, he just kept, looking at me.

"Are you gonna tell me what this whole thing is about or do I just get that vague run through you told me back on Earth?"

He shook himself out of his daze and blinked a few times at me. I raised my eyebrows and nodded towards him.

"I told you, I'm being hunted."

I threw my hands in the air in disbelief.

"That's all I get?"

"Look, y/n, I didn't want to drag you here but the safest place for you is with me. I learned from my brother to not shut out the ones you hold dear. If I had left you on Earth you could have been kidnapped or worse, killed."

I sighed and crossed my arms over my chest. I looked around the room for a second before climbing up onto the table, crawling over it, and sitting right in front of Loki, my legs dangling off the table on either side of him.

"You hold me dear to your heart?"

I smiled at him, he just scoffed and stood up, knocking the chair to the ground. But before he could walk off I grabbed him and hugged him tightly, arms around his torso and face pressed tightly to his chest. He hesitated, keeping his arms from touching me for a second but he slowly gave in, wrapping me up in a big hug. It was comfortable and I could tell he didn't hate it as much as he would say he did. I smiled largely, my cheek pushing my face off of him slightly. When I let my smile fall he brought one hand to stroke my hair.

"I hold you more dearly than you'd think."

I pulled away from him and smiled lightly.

"Can I get that on record?"

He laughed and placed a kiss on my nose before leaving me alone, still sat on the long table. Maybe there was a chance? Just maybe.
