Scott:
Prompt idea: "I'm glad I've lived long enough to exist at the same time as you."
Story:
I sat on the couch in the library and rubbed my eyes. I was tired from the mission the day prior and was having a hard time getting into the book in front of me. I closed it haphazardly and sunk further into the couch, letting it fall to the floor before sighing.
"I think you may have dropped that."
My head snapped over to see Scott standing in the doorway with a book of his own sitting in the crooo of his arm.
"Yeah, I can't really seem to focus much on anything."
He let out a small breath while he walked over to the shelf to return his book.
"Me too, I really wanted to read this bit my attentit is elsewhere after the events of yesterday."
He sat close to me on the couch and picked up the book in the process, tossing it on the coffee table in front of us. I just sunk into him and hugged his arm.
"I feel bad about it but I don't know why, I mean I'm obviously not the only one though if you feel the same way."
"I'm pretty sure we all feel the same way, there was no way we could have known though."
I sighed again and rested my head on his shoulder.
"Yeah I guess you're right. I just wish we could have done more for that poor girl."
He kissed the top of my head.
"There isn't a whole lot we can do now though so I guess all we've got to do is move on."
I looked up at him, only to see him already looking at me.
"It's days like that that make me wish I couldn't live forever, but then there are moments like this that make me stop and think. I'm glad I've lived long enough to exist at the same time as you Scott."
He looked down at his lap and unhooked our arms.
"I'm glad you think of me so highly but I'm with Jean."
I let out a small sigh laugh.
"That's not exactly what I meant Scott, but thanks for the consideration. I'm just saying that I'm glad youre here, I'm glad that we're here. Ya know together, at the same time."
He looked at me again.
"Yeah, y/n, me too."
