Request "...They take care of each other after Thanksgiving"

Oof she kinda jump-cutty but I think it kinda works. Kinda fluffy, kinda angsty, kinda sad, kinda beautiful. Idk pick an adjective and lemme know what you think 🤷

I sat on the couch and watched the snow falling outside intently. It was the first time it had snowed in San dimas in a few years and it felt so nostalgic. It had been snowing all morning, since before I had even arrived at Ted's. I looked up at him as he sat down next to me.

"You okay babe?"

I hummed and nodded.

"Of course I am."

He sent me a look.

"You sure?"

I sighed.

"Yeah."

He turned to face me before looking out the window at the snow.

"I just want you to know you don't have to talk to my family today babe."

I let out a short laugh and patted his shoulder.

"Thanks Ted."

He smiled widely at me.

"Or course babe, I know I probably won't talk to them."

"Yes you will Ted."

His dad called from the kitchen and he rolled his eyes.

"Now will you come help me? This bird isn't gonna cook itself."

I looked from the kitchen door to him.

"He's right, we'd better fo help."

I sat on Ted's bed and ran my hands through my hair a few times. I couldn't handle the amount of his family members that actually wanted to talk to me. It was making me physically sick at this point and I needed to get away. He didn't tell me they were all as good at interrogating people as his dad was. But then again maybe it runs in the family. I was dizzy with 'how long have you been together?' 'do you plan on sticking around?' 'are you sure you're not a cover up for that bill kid?' 'are you planning on having children after highschool?' God it was sickening. Then there was a light knock on the door and Ted poker his head in.

"Babe?"

I looked up at him.

"Yeah?"

"You feeling any better? My grandma has been asking about you and I told her id come check."

I reached my hand out for him to take and he sat down next to me.

"Not really Ted, I think I should probably go home."

He looked so sad.

"Oh, no, please don't. I'm not gonna be able to deal with them all without you here."

He pouted at me.

"Ted I can't handle it anymore."

He rubbed my back gently.

"How about this, you stay in here, and I'll tell them you're sleeping. Then I'll bring you food when it's actually time to eat and we can sit in here and eat together."

He smiled widely at me and waited for my response. I wasn't so sure still but I guess it was worth a try.

"Fine."

He hugged me tightly.

"Thanks babe, it'll be worth it I promise."

I sat in Ted window and watched the snow fall like I had earlier in the day. It was much more calming now though, and so was the fact that I could watch Ted's relatives slowly leave one after another until all the cars were gone from the street in front of his house. I heard the door click and watched Ted's reflection in the window as he came in.

"Everyone's gone now babe."

I turned around to face him and smiled softly.

"They don't hate me do they?"

He shook his head.

"No, after I told them you didn't feel good and we're taking a nap they all kind of felt bad actually. I was a little surprised, that never happens."

I frowned.

"I hope I didn't make them feel too bad."

He shrugged and reached for my hands, pulling me to my feet.

"No I don't think so, I think they just realized they were too pushy. But you being actually sick would've been out of their control."

I laughed a little as he held me to him, swaying along to the song that was playing softly over his radio.

"Sorry I was such a bother."

He kissed my forehead.

"You are never a bother babe. If my family can't stay out of your business that's their problem."

I looked up at him endearingly.

"When did you get so smart?"

He smiled at me.

"When I started dating you."

I laughed at him.

"I love you Ted Logan."

He leaned down and kissed me gently.

"I love you too y/n."
