Rose's POV:

"Rose... hey Rose, wake up. It's time to start training." Percy said, waking me up from my dreamless slumber. He shook me lightly as I opened my eyes and looked at the time. It was 6:00 sharp. "Yeah, it's early. Enough time for you to freshen up and take a shower. Do what you gotta do. Then, meet me at the lake at 7:30. That's where we'll start your training." Percy said with a smile and then left the room for me to get up and to get ready for my first day of training.

After I had finished getting ready, basically only taking a shower, brushing my hair, getting dressed, and brushing my teeth. No makeup was needed because I was hoping I got to swim today. I walked over to the lake seeing Percy was already there. He turned around, probably hearing my footsteps in the distance. He gave me a smile and said, "ready?" Once I stood next to him.

"More than ready." I replied confidently.

"Alight, well we're probably not going to be going in the lake today. Maybe a little bit tomorrow, but I was planning on getting you a weapon tonight and then teaching you how to fight tomorrow...I mea-"

"Percy, sorry for interrupting you, but if we're not going in the lake, then why are we even here?" I asked confused.

"Well, when you go into a battle it's most likely not going to be in the water. But... we do have other powers, like this." He said and then he did something... magical. The water in the lake started to come up and went over to the backside of Percy. It looked like a tidal wave or a tsunami was about to crash over him or engulf him, but it just stayed behind him.

"Whoa! Wha-Can I do that too!?" I asked in amazement.

"Supposedly you should be able to." He replied in a natural manner.

"But-But how? How did you do that?" I asked.

"Well, how I personally do it is just... well I just think really hard about what I want the water to do. You, like, have to become one with the water. And guide it, usually it's easier to guide it when you use your hands. Ya know, like hand motions." He said as he demonstrated with bending the water into swirls. "You can also take down a bunch of enemies. You'll be using water vapor in the air if there isn't any bodies of water around you..." he thought for a minute, "ya know, you can actually use snow or ice too. Like with that girl, Myra. You guys would actually make a good team with your manipulation of her powers. That'd be awesome. An unstoppable team... I'll train you guys to work together in a couple days..." he finished and then started thinking.

"Well I don't know... I don't think Myra really likes me. I'm not sure what I did to her, but for some reason she seems furious at me."

"Have you ever talked to her? Maybe something you said triggered her or something?"

"No, I've never talked to her before. I'm not sure what her problem is. I know she traveled with Ben for their journey here, but... I-I don't know. I'll talk to Ben about it."

"Alright..." he said and we were left thinking. Then Percy got cheery and said, "Now it's your turn."

"Huh?" I said confused.

"Well, to try doing stuff with the water."

"Uh... I'll-I'll try." I said nervously.

"Don't be nervous, I bet you'll be a natural. You seem like you've spent a lot of time in water throughout your life. Now come on, I'm rooting for you!" He said encouragingly.

"Ok, here goes nothing." I said and then I thought really hard on what I wanted the water to do, trying to copy what Percy previously did with that tidal wave thing. I was, thankfully, able to do sort of the same thing. I tried to hold it in the air but I got increasingly tired and it fell onto the both of us. Percy and I looked at each other, drenched. "Uh... sorry?" I said a little bit embarrassed. Them, Percy burst out into laughter.
