Myra's POV:

It had been a few more long days of traveling. The closer we got to the castle the more stressed out I got. Nathan had started giving me herbs for the pain, anxiety, and obviously the herbs to keep me awake. I had eaten them right after dinner, which was around an hour ago. At the moment, I was sitting in Cole's lap. The two of us were watching Nathan and Ben fawn over Rose. "When are you going to apologize?" Cole asked, breaking our silence.

"Soon. Before we get to the castle. I just... I wish she would understand I want to look out for her." I sighed. Cole wrapped his arms around my waist comfortingly.

"I know you do, but you have to let her make her own decisions, Frostbite." Cole soothed.

"But she's making the wrong decision... something about Ben is off, Cole. I don't know what it is, but something is very wrong. You believe me, don't you?" I asked, looking up at him. Cole gave me an awkward smile and scratched the back of his neck nervously.

"Myra... Ben's a good guy. He wouldn't do anything bad. Maybe you're just paranoid. We're getting close to the castle..." Cole trailed off, giving me a concerned look.

"I'm fine, Cole."

"Myra, don't pull that with me. Nathan's been giving you the herbs and you're still stressed."

"I know... let's talk about something else, okay? I'm so sick of this."

"Like what?"

"Who do you think Rose is gonna choose?" I asked looking back over at everyone else.

"Definitely Nathan." Cole gestured to Nathan who was handing Rose a flower with a goofy grin on his face. Rose laughed and kissed him on the cheek. I started laughing quietly as Nathan's face turned bright red. Cole yawned. "What about you?"

"Well since you picked Nathan I'll go with Ben. She'll probably pick him just because I told her not to." I huffed. After Rose kissed Nathan on the cheek, Ben pouted until he got one from her too. The sinking feeling in my stomach was worrying me, but I decided to just trust Cole for now. At least until I had evidence.

"Really? Ben? I thought you would've picked Nathan." He raised an eyebrow at me. I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"I said who I thought she would pick. Not who I want her to pick."

"You sound confident then." He smirked.

"I'm her best friend, Cole, of course I know who she'd pick." I stated bluntly, watching Ben and Nathan carefully.

"Care to bet on that?" Cole's smirk widened into a questioning grin, drawing my attention back to him.

"Maybe... depends on what I get if I win." Cole had a gleam in his eyes that meant he definitely had something planned.

"Anything you want." He replied. I sat in silence thinking for a moment, before an idea suddenly came to me. All I really wanted at this point was to live life normally. Once we were back in Camp with Knox, chances are I'd be with him all the time. Plus, if Cole wanted to get to know me better, this was definitely the way to do it. I turned back to look at him with a wicked grin.

"You have to watch all 8 Harry Potter movies with me and read the books." I said dramatically, trying and failing to keep the excitement out of my voice.

"I would've done that for you anyways, Frostbite." He squeezed my hand lightly and smiled. I leaned back against his chest and tilted my head so I could look up at him.

"Well now you have to. So what do you want if you win?" Cole suddenly seemed to get nervous. I could feel his heart racing. I gave him a concerned look. I was about to ask if he was alright, but then I had a thought that I just had to say beforehand. "I also want a puppy." I said seriously. If this was a bet, then I wanted to sweeten the deal as much as I could... just in case I won.

"Alright, I guess. I don't know where I'm gonna find a puppy, but whatever you'd like, Frostbite." He laughed and then tightened his grip a bit.

"Alright, now what is it that you want?" I asked curious to see what he would come up with.

"Could I uhh... could I maybe... kiss you?" Cole stuttered, his face turning bright red. I laughed and relaxed.

"Sure. You won't win anyways so I'm not worried." I said calmly, trying to act confident.

"We'll see, Myra." Cole yawned and stretched, sending me a tired smile.

"No interfering with them, alright? The only time you can say anything is if someone comes to you for advice." He nodded his head in agreement and stared at me, his eyes barely open.

"Mhm, of course, Frostbite." Cole let out another large yawn and rested his head on my shoulder, half asleep.

"Badger, you should get to bed." I instructed. I really didn't want him to fall asleep. Being awake and alone only increased the paranoia I felt, but after everything he had done for me I wasn't going to make him stay awake just so I didn't feel lonely.

"Nah, I'm awake..." Cole mumbled, shutting his eyes. I shook him a bit to wake him up.

"Comon' you big dummy." I huffed and stood up, letting Cole lean on me. I guided him over to his sleeping bag, which was near Rose, Nathan, and Ben. Cole sluggishly snuggled up inside it. I knew he fell asleep almost instantly, but I stayed by his side anyways, playing with his hair and ignoring everyone else. Probably around ten minutes after, Nathan and Ben walked over to their sleeping bags too. Rose followed a few minutes after them. I tried to make eye contact with her, but she ignored me, clearly still angry. I was going to have to apologize before we got to the castle. I have no idea what disasters Khione has in store for us.
