Will's POV:
I walked into my lab after letting Damian into my room to see Shadow was fiddling with some of my supplies. "Shadow, can you not touch that? It could be dangerous." I said monotonously. She looked up and rolled her eyes.
"Look, I know you're stressed, but I'm sure everything will be fine. Damian can handle this." She said reassuringly.
"Sure." I mumbled in agreement. I began fiddling with ingredients and crushing leaves. I walked over to the soil I had in the room and began growing a few plants I thought I'd need.
"So... what did you do with Rose when you went... out?" Shadow asked in a mischievous way. I felt my face heat up, but I ignored it, focusing on growing plants.
"N-Nothing, Shadow." I replied still looking at my work.
"Nothing? Really? Okay... then if nothing happened, why'd you just grow two roses?" She asked. My face heated up even more once I realized she was right...
"Damnit." I mumbled under my breath, ripping them out of the ground, looking at them, and then tossing them to the side. "I gotta focus, Shadow..." I said quietly, starting over. This time, I payed special attention to what I was doing instead of being hung up on Shadow's words.
"Sooner or later you're gonna have to tell me what happened. I know you can't keep those emotions in for too long, Will." I rolled my eyes, getting up and bringing my plants over to my small preparation table. I stayed silent, not sure how to reply. Shadow became restless. "Come on, Will! Please tell me! I won't tell anyone I just wanna know!" She pleaded.
"Alright alright, Shadow! Gods... we just... hung out..." I replied quietly.
"I want details!" She pressed.
"Ugh, Shadow! It's not a big deal!" I said in an exasperated tone.
"It is a big deal! You wouldn't be getting so defensive if it wasn't." ...she had a point. I hated that she knew me so well.
"Alright... we uh... we went out to that brook and she started splashing me with water. And I uh... was kinda soaked..." I began, trailing off while I worked with the plants.
"I'm invested now!" She said putting her head in her hands while she watched me and waited for me to continue, intently.
"Gods... so I asked her if I could uh... take it off?" I said awkwardly.
"It off? As in all your clothes?" She said, shocked.
"No! Gods, Shadow! What the-no!... my shirt, Shadow." My face heated up and I facepalmed myself.
"Fine, fine. Continue." She said rolling her eyes.
"Ok so I did that... and then I got nervous... so I started biting down on my lip... it started bleeding a bit, so she came over and wiped it away..." she stood up straight at my explanation.
"Wait. You're telling me that at that time you were shirtless and she was touching your lips?" She said in a mock tone.
"Yes, Shadow. I just said that." I said refusing to meet her eyes.
"You guys then had a make out scene didn't you? Were the birds singing? There were fireflies weren't there?" She said in a dreamy way.
"I knew I shouldn't have told you..." I said running a hand through my hair, my voice full of regret.
"No way! I was right! You aren't denying that?!" She came up to me excitedly holding my arm and jumping up and down.
"Keep it down Shadow! They're right next door!" I shook her off, whisper yelling at her. She rolled her eyes at me, walking around the other side of the table to be in front of me.
