Will's POV:
I rushed Shadow out of my room and started walking in front of her quickly, not wanting to look her in the eye. "So, Lover Boy, having fun?" She said catching up to me easily.
"We weren't doing anything, Shadow." I said blankly, still looking straight on while we walked.
"Oh yeah, I'm sure you weren't. That's why you're all red in the face." I cringed internally and shook my head.
"N-No it's because you embarrassed me. You always do that..." I replied becoming quiet.
"I had nothing to do with this. You were completely out of breath, blushing like an idiot, and your hair is all messed up." Shadow explained loudly, throwing her hands in the air for emphasis.
"I... I don't know what you're talking about." I said nervously. I could feel Shadow roll her eyes at me.
"Fine, fine. I'll let it go for now." She said crossing her arms.
"I-I'll tell you when we get to the kitchen. I know you're not gonna let this go..." I said putting my hands in my pocket as we walked.
"Look at that! You have some common sense!" She said punching my arm playfully. I smirked as we walked in silence, finally realizing what had happened between Rose and I. It was pure euphoria at its finest. I took a shot in the dark and the light won out.
Shadow and I finally made it to the kitchen and we started to look for leftovers from lunch. We were able to make up two plates. One for me and one for Rose since Shadow had already had lunch. Probably with Damian. "So? Gonna tell me?" Shadow pressed once we had finished making up plates. Now, I was looking for drinks.
"Uh... it's not a big deal..." I said scanning the inside of the fridge absentmindedly. I found two water bottles and pulled them out, leaving them on the table.
"Just tell me already." Shadow said rolling her eyes. She was sitting on a counter, so I hopped onto the counter across from her.
"Alright.... uh... well we were talking... uh, fighting, rather..." I said, feeling disappointed in myself. I shouldn't have yelled. I should have let her explain herself in a more... calm environment.
"Oh gods... you were fighting and you went for it then?" She said shaking her head.
"No! Gods, no I wouldn't... no... I just... she went with Walker to see Myra and she didn't tell me so I thought Olthen got to her and I was freaking out and then she came back and I started yelling at her cause I was worried. A-And then I went to like... fix my hair cause you know I do that when I get nervous and like... ugh she thought I was gonna hit her! And-and she said 'too' and I... Ben has hit her before! C-Can you believe that!? I just... how could someone do that to her!? To anyone!? And then afterwards be able to trust them!?..." I said running my hand through my hair. I flinched when I did, remembering what had happened again, but I also remembered I wasn't talking to Rose anymore.
"Okay, okay. Calm down, Will." Shadow said. I felt my face heat up.
"But... But seriously... how..." I replied in disbelief. I started twiddling my thumbs, looking down at my lap.
"I don't know, Will. Just finish the story." Shadow said on the edge of her seat. I knew she just wanted to get to the part where... well... you know.
"O-Okay... so we uh... we cleared everything up and I just... I felt bad and I just... I wanted to kiss her so I guess I just asked..." I shrugged, feeling my face heat up again. I looked up at Shadow to see she was smiling widely.
"You're so innocent, Will. I can't even handle it sometimes." She spoke with her hands. I gave her a questioning look.
"What're you talking about? I can't just go and kiss her, she'd hate me." I explained.
"Just keep talking." She smirked.
"I uh... okay, so I asked and then she didn't reply so I got scared and got up and walked over to the wall and I put my head in my hands and she just... she came up to me and turned me around and we just... we kissed..." I finally finished the story.
"About time. How long were you guys like that?" She questioned.
"I... I don't know. You said it's like 4 o'clock now... and she came back at like 1? And I guess we talked for an hour and a half maybe?... so uh..." I finally came to the realization that we weren't just like that for 10 minutes... gods I didn't mean for it to go on that long... I was... gods I was in a moment and I never wanted it to end...
"Oh my gods, Will." Shadow said with disbelief.
"You kinda uh... stopped us. So thanks..." I said truthfully.
"I regret everything! Ugh! I should've waited..." Shadow said hopping off of the counter.
"No no no, I'm glad... we were gonna uh... it could've gone too far." I said doing the same and then leaning back on the counter.
"That is honestly no surprise to me... I actually am kind of surprised, though, you haven't gone that far yet." She said putting her hair into a ponytail.
"Shadow, no. I'd never do anything like that with her. Th-That's not right..." I said shaking my head and looking down.
"Really? Cause you just said you were about to." She raised an eyebrow at me, smirking.
"I'm positive she would've stopped me... she wouldn't want that... right?" I asked, unsure of myself.
"Don't ask me, dummy." Shadow replied.
"Well I can't ask her!" I exclaimed.
"Well as far as I can tell, she didn't sound like she wanted you to stop." Shadow shrugged, crossing her arms and leaning on the counter too.
"Gods... I... no, I'm glad you came. It's for the best." I assured her.
"Alright, I get it. I'm amazing." She threw her hands up in the air bowing, seemingly, awaiting praise. I rolled my eyes.
"Okay, Shadow, sure. We should get this back to Rose. Are you gonna stay to talk?" I asked, picking up a plate.
"I might, just to check up on her." She said picking up the other plate.
"Alright, cool. Lets go." I said walking away, motioning for her to follow. I heard her footsteps after me as we walked down the halls back to my room. I smiled to myself the whole time we were walking, remembering Rose... if there was anything I wanted to remember about Rose, it'd be the time we spent together. The good times where we talked, cuddled, and just had a relaxing time. I wanted to remember how safe I felt with her. I couldn't ask for anything more.
