Rose's POV:
It's been a month since we got back. Ben's been in a lot of pain. He's been refusing to have any ambrosia. He said something about "being tough" and "not needing it." But I find that very foolish. Cole is itching in his skin to go back to save Myra and it's very selfish of Ben to do that. I walked to the Pavilion to see Cole sitting alone at a table. I got my food and sat down in front of him. "Hey, Cole. How are you?" He gave me a gloomy look and forced a smile.
"I'm alright."
"Have you slept?"
"Yeah, I'm just a little... down I guess. It's been a month since you guys got back. I just thought we'd be traveling by now. How's Ben? Still hasn't taken the ambrosia?" He said the last sentence with a bit of hatred and annoyance.
"Nope... he's a stubborn one. And I know you're tired of waiting. I'll get him to have some today, ok? I promise, I'll try my best." He nodded sadly.
"Okay..." We ate in silence for a bit until I said goodbye to Cole and headed to the infirmary. I saw Cole get up and head to the arena, probably to practice even more. He's been practicing day and night for a month. I'm surprised he's even rested. I walked into the infirmary in a sort of rage.
"Alright, Ben. I'm done with this crap. Eat the darn ambrosia so we can get out of here and finish this once and for all!" I said grabbing a piece and rushing over to his bed.
"Well, good morning to you too."
"Don't try to be cute, it's not going to work. Come on, just eat it so we can get this over with. Cole isn't doing well without Myra, and he's only going to decline." Ben stayed silent for a moment and then finally spoke up.
"I-I can't." I let out an annoyed laugh.
"I'm going to love whatever you have to say next. Why not?"
"I-I just don't want you to go on the quest. It's dangerous, Rose. I don't want anything to happen to you." This made me furious.
"That is freaking rich, Ben. I'm done talking about this. Take it now because either way, I'm going to finish this quest whether you like it or not." I glared at him, not taking my gaze away from his watery eyes. He nodded his head and took it from my hand. He knew he wouldn't win this fight. He knew sooner or later he'd be healed and I'd be going, so why prolong it? He ate a small bite of the ambrosia and then handed me back the rest. I put it back where I found it and left. I didn't want to talk to him anymore. While I walked to the arena where Cole was, Percy stopped me.
"Hey."
"Hey, Percy. What's up?"
"We found a new demigod today. His names Nathan, but Chiron has a plan. Get Cole and come to the Big House. And hurry."
"Ok." I said as he ran off to get Cole. I told him to come with me, and he simply nodded and followed. Once we got there, I could see that Ben was already there, completely fine, which, again, stirred my annoyance. I walked over to him anyhow and stood in between of him and Cole. I didn't bother looking at him, but I could feel his eyes on me. There was another boy in the room, waiting on a chair. He looked a bit confused, but rather comfortable in his surroundings. Chiron started to speak.
"Cole, Rose, Ben. This is Nathaniel. He's been here once before, but has returned. He is a skilled fighter and is here to help. He's going to scout out the overall area of Khione's castle and then come into contact with us and tell you all what he finds. It'll take about a month for him to go and return and then, you'll be off." I could tell Cole was tensing up and was definitely about to say something, but he held back. I chose to speak up for him.
