Damian's POV:

"Come on, Damian. You gotta get up." Shadow shook my arm slightly. I groggily opened my eyes and took in my blurry surroundings, sitting up. "Much better." Shadow smirked and kissed my cheek, causing my face to heat up.

"M-Morning, Shadow." I stammered, my voice cracking from sleep. She laughed and ran her hands through my hair. I shook her off slightly and stood up, stretching. I walked around my room, picking up some clothes to get changed into.

"After you go take care of Myra, come find me, okay? I need to talk to you about something." The smile fell off of Shadow's face. Dread sank into my stomach like I'd swallowed a rock. She was gonna break up with me... I knew it. I knew I wasn't good enough for her. I was stupid to ever be convinced that she loved me. "Hey! Don't give me that face! It's not about us. It's about Will, Myra, and Rose. You can lose the pout now." She soothed. I felt myself physically relax at her words.

"What about them?" I asked, changing my shirt.

"We'll talk about it later. Go get yourself something to eat. I'll see you in a bit!" Shadow smiled at me and left my room, shutting the door behind her. I finished getting dressed and went to the kitchen. Corbyn and Walker were making something on the stove. I made myself a bowl of cereal and sat down at the table.

"Morning, guys." I greeted them tiredly, still not completely awake yet.

"Hey Damian!" Corbyn grinned and made himself and Walker cereal too, sitting down next to me, while Walker slathered a pancake with butter.

"Aren't you guys gonna eat pancakes too?" I asked, watching Walker.

"Will stole the rest of the batter." Walker complained.

"And we're unbelievably generous so we made the last one for Myra. It's her favorite." Corbyn told me through a mouthful of cereal. We ate in silence for awhile. Walker and Corbyn ate their food quickly and got up to leave, saying that Myra can't be left alone for too long after yesterday's incident. They filled me in on everything that happened after Myra fell asleep last night. The way she was turning so quickly... it made it seem like her mind had been messed with before. I shook off the thought and cleaned up my plate. I left the kitchen and walked down to Will's lab area to pick up the serum for Myra. I knocked on the door and heard a muffled "come in" from inside.

"Morning, Will." I came into the lab although it seemed too cramped in here for me.

"Hey, Damian. Myra's treatment will be ready in a minute. I just have to fill up the syringe." Will assured me. I leaned against the table and looked into the cauldron Will had. The serum looked... odd. It was brighter than usual and less purple. It looked a bit more like that starting treatments than the intermediate ones she's been getting.

"Alright... it looks kinda different today, why's that?" I asked, looking up at Will. He wouldn't meet my eyes, but kept fervently glancing at the wall in between his room and his lab. Rose was in his room still. He must be worried...

"N-No it's the same serum as yesterday." Will stuttered and filled up the syringe. "Here you go." He said, still not meeting my eyes. I scrutinized him for a second longer, unable to hide my suspicion.

"Thanks..." I replied, hesitating for a moment before taking the syringe and starting to leave.

"Hey, Damian? Could I come by to talk to you later tonight?" Will asked, giving me a nervous look. He was acting really weird today...

"Sure, Will. I'll be in my room. I uh... I should get this to Myra. Corbyn and Walker just gave her breakfast." I said awkwardly, and headed out the door.
