Myra's POV:

Traveling was really starting to suck. It was fine at first. Ben, Rose, and Nathan stuck together in the back while Cole stayed by my side, but something had happened with the three of them. The problem had obviously been Eros's arrow kicking in. Nathan fawned over Rose constantly, doing anything and everything for her. Meanwhile Ben fumed up front and constantly ranted to Cole and I. Eventually, I snapped and told him to win her back if he loved her so much. Now he hadn't talked to me in days. It was a nice break, but I was worried about him. He had changed. Ben was normally quiet, calm, and caring, but lately he snapped at everyone. Cole told me not to worry about it. Since Nathan fell in love with Rose, Cole had become more relaxed around him. They had even started to talk like they were friends.

At the moment we were getting close to the Great Lakes. I could feel the cold coming off the water. It ended up adding to my energy. It was a relief to not be exhausted all the time. I knew that would change once I had to make my bridge. Everyone else was feeling the cold too. Nathan and Ben kept trying to best each other at impressing Rose, although Rose would have none of Ben or what he was doing. Nathan was the temporary victor. He was walking with his arm around Rose, shivering slightly since he had given her his sweatshirt. Ben trailed behind them, glaring at Nathan. Cole was shivering next to me too. My sweatshirt was too small for him to wear and I felt bad. As a son of Apollo, it was obvious this weather was hitting him harder than the rest of us. The day passed on quickly until evening. I made everyone stop and set up camp nearby a small town.

"What's up with this, Frostbite? You don't normally want to be even remotely close to mortals..."

"We're getting close to Lake Superior. Whether we like it or not, there will be tourists everywhere. Might as well get used to it." I lied. Rose managed to ration out some food for us since animals around here were scarce. I stayed tucked under Cole's arm while we ate. After everyone finished eating, Nathan handed me the leaves I needed. It was getting clear that the ground was all permafrost. After we crossed the lake, he wouldn't be able to grow it any more. I ate the leaves and waited until everyone was asleep before sneaking into the town.

Soon after, I found my target. A store dedicated to winter gear. I used my powers to create a small blizzard. It was stronger than I had expected and shattered the doors, setting off an alarm. I wasn't worried though. No mortal would be capable of trekking through this storm. I stumbled inside, searching for jackets. I grabbed all the supplies I could carry. I felt bad and dug into my pockets to see if I had any money left. All I had was ten dollars. I put it on the counter and ran off. By the time I got back to our campsite, it was nearly sunrise and I was exhausted. I dropped the stuff in a pile and started to wake everyone up, hoping they wouldn't ask too many questions.

"Hey, Myra. Where have you been?" Rose asked groggily.

"Huh? No where." I pretended to be innocent.

"Seems suspicious. Spill." Rose raised an eyebrow at me.

"Rose it's nothing. Just take a jacket and don't ask questions."

"At this point, I've stopped asking questions. I don't think I wanna know anyways. Thanks." She mumbled, looking over at my pile of supplies.

"No problem. Let's hurry up and get going. If I stay still for too long I'll fall asleep." I yawned and stretched my arms. Last night's raid had exhausted me, but I had to keep going.

"Alright, I'll go get the others... uh, can you get Ben?" Rose asked me uncomfortably.

"Yeah... I guess." I huffed, looking over at Ben's sleeping form. I really didn't want to deal with his attitude, but I didn't have much of a choice.
