Rose's POV:
I groaned, opening my eyes. I rubbed them, trying to get adjusted to the dim light. Once I opened my eyes fully, I saw that I was in a... a cage? Why was I in a cage? Where was I?... I got up to my feet with more ease than I thought I'd have and walked over to the bars. I saw that there was another cage across from me with someone lying on the ground. "Hey! Hey, wake up!" I called out to the figure. I couldn't make out if the figure was a boy or a girl because the dim light was only casting shadows and straining my eyes wasn't helping me either. Slowly but surely, with more of my yelling, the person was coming to consciousness. Once the person was on their feet, they came to the bars. "M-Myra?! What the heck are you doing here!? Why... were you following me!? This entire time!?" I yelled angrily at her. I trusted her to keep her word that no one would follow me and she just... she messed everything up! She looked down, blushing.
"I-I'm sorry... I thought-" I cut her off.
"You thought what, Myra?! That I couldn't take care of myself?! That I was incapable of being alone?! Huh?!" I yelled. "Gods, Myra. You promised nobody would follow me! I told you I'd be fine!" I said walking around in a circle after glaring at her.
"Well apparently you can't take care of yourself. You're in a cage too, ya know?" She said sarcastically. I immediately went to the bars and glared at her again.
"You wouldn't be here either if you didn't follow me! I-I can't believe you, Myra! You have absolutely no right to be sarcastic or angry at me right now! What kind of... gods, Myra!" I screamed at her. She looked at me and then down at her feet. After a moment she walked to the corner of her cell and sat down. Her head was in her hands. I rolled my eyes and walked to the wall. The cold, stone wall. I became angry and started punching the wall repeatedly. My knuckles soon became bloody, but I punched the wall one more time anyways. When I was finished, I put my back to the wall and slid down into a sitting position. I refused to cry no matter how much I was hurting. I was too exhausted to feel anything anymore. I soon fell asleep.
I woke up in a sitting position, but there was someone in front of me, holding my hands. "B-Ben?" I looked up. But it wasn't Ben. The boy looked me in the eye for a split second and then went back to what he was doing. I became scared and quickly took my hands away from his and backed up into the corner of the room. I was still in my cell, I could tell. But, I wasn't alone anymore.
"Rose, I'm trying to help you. I'm not going to hurt you." He came towards me with the gauze in his hands still. I looked down at my knuckles and grimaced at dried blood and deep gashes. "Please, let me patch you up." I looked at him for a few moments and then slowly nodded my head. He gave me a sad smile and then walked over to me again, crouching down and lightly holding my hand. He looked it over and then started wrapping.
"How do you know my name." I commanded as he kept working on my hands.
"I just do." He mumbled, obviously deep in thought about what he was doing. I decided to stay silent as he finished. Once he did, he got up to leave. Before he left, after locking the cell up, he turned to me.
"I'm sorry if I scared you. I just wanted to help." He said softly, and then walked away. I gave him a dirty look as he did. If he was really sorry, then he'd let me go. Then he wouldn't have trapped me in here. I didn't know who he was, but I wasn't going to let him get away with whatever he did. I didn't trust anyone anymore. I got up from my position in the corner and walked to the bars. I held them, enjoying the cold of them on my hands. I could feel it through the thin gauze. I looked over to see Myra, her back turned to me while she sat in a corner. I became worried the more I looked at her because she refused to move even an inch.
