Vacant hearts

I don't understand,
Why it seems to feel so good.
I've been told that it would make me
Broken.
That it would make my limbs feel
Shaken.

That shadows would build,
Around a nonexistent light.
That grey mist would form,
Around a crystal clear glass.

I believe them no longer,
I no longer beat to
Please,
Because I no longer have strings to
Tease.

They said vacant hearts are dark,
No light emits where none are placed. No joy exists when laughs seem not
To be graced.

But in my experience,
Vacant hearts,
Causes a smile when tears are Formed.
Because if you no longer have the need
To enlighten another,
You serve only the purpose
To please yourself.

When a glass is empty,
No one enjoys its water,
But also,
No one diminishes it's taste.

When a heart is vacant,
No one stirs in that soul,
But also,
No one turns it into nothing.

Something whole,
When touched,
Turns into nothing.

Something empty,
When touched,
Stays it's empty self.

Vacant hearts appeal more to me,
After all how can something that
Has no one or nothing,
Be broken and scattered into pieces?

Hearts are vacant,
That's why smiles,
Are plentiful.

(A/n: So I really like this one,  it just has this vibe to it I guess. Thanks so much for reading this far, you are appreciated.
