Planets

Were on our own,
Yet we're drawn,
Drawn to an orbital circle,
Motioning around our only source of light,
Our sun,
Whilst we're stuck in complete darkness.

We're lost,
And will never be found,
We have those around us,
Who will give their all,
Our moons,
But we refuse to give even an inch of us.
Instead we chase the ones,
The ones who have their own revolution to
Fulfill.

We feed ourselves the lie,
That we are unique,
Yet we try to fit in,
And move just as the others do.

I close my eyes,
And suddenly see our purpose,
With millions of stars,
Moving around me,
But without it,
I would completely alone,
Darkness filling all the lit up voids.

People,
Are planets.
