At first I was just staring out the window,
Watching the cars and the trees.
But then I started seeing us,
In the cars.
You being the driver,
And me sitting beside you,
Us laughing at something silly again.
Then I started seeing you and I,
Under the trees,
Us talking and smiling,
Our eyes interlocked.
I turned away from the window,
The afternoon sun blaring through,
And heating me up,
In all the places I was once cold.
Then I thought of you again,
How warm my cheeks had gotten,
When you had smiled at me,
And my blood had boiled,
When I felt your hand in mine.
I turned on the air conditioner,
And took a sip of my cold water,
Then focused on the road again.
We were moving fast,
Almost as fast as my heart always beats,
Whenever you talk to me.
I told my mom to slow down for a second,
Not to go so fast anymore,
Because I didn't want to think of you
Anymore.
I didn't want my mind to be as polluted,
As the exhuasts of the cars around us,
With hopeless thoughts of you.
Then the sun started setting,
And I started seeing our names,
In the beautiful pink hues.
I closed my eyes,
But then I saw you again,
Because for every moment,
My eyelids fell closed,
I either thought of you,
Or dreamt of you.
I'm travelling when I'm supposed to be
With you.
But I need to get you out of my head,
For only a second,
Because I know the risks of travelling;
The car crashes,
And tumbling over the roads.
You're everything perfect about a road trip,
I just hope that you're not gonna turn out
To be just another accident.
