They whisk right past me, as I sit in a
Mindless zone.
Soft gushes of air, hits the sides of my
Face,
And as much as I try to ignore them, They shine bright, almost as bright as
My eyes used to.
I close my eyes, urging for them to Take over my senses.
I forget everything that once was
And everything that is supposed to be.
I forget worldly things,
Like people and their tenses.
I forget dreams and their phases.
I forget everything but those two Faces.
These faces are my hope.
The face of my own,
And the face of the unknown.
The first face, brings me peace,
The first face, I know who she is.
I know what she says,
I know what she does.
But the second, the face of the
Unknown,
Like a storm in the midst of sunshine,
Is unclear to me,
I know not what to expect,
But the mystery seems to set my
Unknowing spirit at ease.
Two faces, I have to choose from,
The first, Something that I know,
Reliability,
The second, Something that I do not,
Unreliability.
I have to make a choice,
It would be realistic to choose the
First,
After all, I have lived by it all my life,
The set rules, the unspoken words,
And the concealed laughter.
The second would be a risk,
But perhaps it would set me free,
Perhaps I would live to be,
Not who I was all along,
But who I want to be.
As I open my eyes,
I have made my decision,
I am prominent of who I chose,
I chose the face of the girl with the
Eyes on fire,
I chose the face of the girl that would
Chase her hearts desire.
I chose the face of the girl, that would
Take left instead of right,
I chose the face of who I was deep
Inside,
Not based on the face I saw everyday,
But based on the feelings I felt, within
My heart.
I chose the Face of the Unknown.
