I will survive

19 5 5

Give me rivers and waterfalls,
I will stand tall,
Because darling,
I've stood in the oceans,
That lay in my mind.

Throw me with sticks and stones,
I've withstood boulders,
Boulders I've been thrown at
By the people I love the most.

Give me a smoldering fire,
Because I have one burning in the very core
Of my soul.

Give me thorns,
It tells me you think me to be a rose,
So thanks for the compliment.

Give me rain,
There's nothing I enjoy more,
Than wet hair and wet tongues,
Because of unctrollable laughter,
As a result of dancing in the rain.

Give me lightning and thunder,
There's not a show that I appreciate more
Than the sky entertaining us with it's
Beauty.

Give me guns and knives,
Nothing can portrude into a skin,
That is made of impenetrable hope.

Give me tears,
I'll turn them into a smile,
Smiles through tears,
Is the prettiest sight,
Any person can have.

Give me laughs in my face,
After all, I have a great sense of humour.

Give me nightmares,
There's none quite darker,
Than the ones I came across.

Give,
And i will receive,
With a glad heart at that.

Give me darkness,
And I'll show you the stars.

Give me crimson blood,
Iron delicacies,
Forsaken sculptures,
Ripped paintings,
Broken hearts,
Scarred arms,
Bleak eyes,
Splintered magic,
Damaged souls,
Tainted minds,
Depression of tears in a corner,
Late nights of screaming into your pillow,
Love that is unrequited,
Dreams that have fallen and crashed to the
Ground,
Continuous trial and continous error,
And I will smile,
And turn it all into my poetry.

You can't destroy a warrior,
With weapons that only ricochet.
You can't destroy a fire,
With winds that only fuel it.
You can't destroy a dream,
By planting nightmares around every
Corner,
You'll only ignite the dreams further.

Give me anything you got,
Because I will come out standing stronger.
The harder you fall,
The stronger your bones.
I can't deny it,
This fact that leaves a smile pinned on my
Fact.
And believe me,
It is a fact.

Give me anything at all,
And I will survive.

(A/n: the title of this poem, makes me think of that song by Gloria Gaynor; "I will survive"
At first I was afraid,
I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side la la la la la, I will survive...
Great! Now that song is stuck in my head! Darnnit! Anyways... So what was I saying?...
Oh yeah! Now I remember.
What did you think of this poem and do you know that song?
Xoxo
