Your gentle smile and opening heart,
Are only preparing me for the hardest drop
Of them all.
Your pooling eyes that I can dive into,
Are only a mirage,
For my thirsty heart.
Your charismatic laugh and tunic voice,
Are only luring tunes,
Like the melodies that mermaids sing,
To kill the sailors.
Your rekindling embrace,
That could swallow the entire epitome of
My existence,
That's exactly what you did,
You swallowed me whole like a shark,
Without biting or chewing,
I'm just stuck down there,
Lost in the core of your soul,
But I'm lost,
And I doubt you'll ever try to find me.
I should've known,
You we're too good to be true,
And all that's too good to be true,
Comes to a crashing end.
