Let me be you

58 7 3

I stare at the trees,
And the long strings of polished grass. I look at the mountains,
Looking down,
At the rest of the world, out of pure
Curiosity.
Let me be you, I whisper tenderly.

I feel the soft sand between my toes,
I hear the serene sound of waves,
Gently crashing against the rocks.
I smell the air, and take in the beauty
I see.
Let me be you, I whisper tenderly.

I watch the roses,
So innocent and pure.
I look at the sunflowers,
Bedazzled in their yellow bliss.
Let me be you, I whisper tenderly.

I smile up at the clear blue sky,
Stretched out into infinity.
I dream about the clouds,
In their splendid beauty.
I feel the warm sun as it heats up my
Cool skin.
Let me be you, I whisper tenderly.

As the voices in my head shout at me,
As the lies keep building up,
As the sadness keeps drowning me,
I look at nature and it's beauty.
Let me be you, I whisper with tears
In my eyes.

As my lungs close in on me,
As my heart shatters into a million
Empty pieces,
As I try to blink away the pain, but it
Refuses to leave me.
I turn to the beauty of nature,
Let me be you, I say, loudly this time,
Urging for you to listen to my cries.

All of a sudden,
As I close my eyes and forget all that's around me.
As I take in my surroundings,
As I see every spectacular detail
In my mind.
Then I know,
That I am you.
