CHAPTER 7: Not A Groupie.
"Don't you know that love ain't used like a riddle?"
- Felix Jaehn
"Luke?"
"Yeah?"
"Please shut up."
"Okay."
I sighed. Finally some peace. That is until he started again. So let's start from the beginning.
It's officially my first day. I was waiting for this moment for quite some time now. Waiting to start anew. And though a change can sometimes lead to cracking your shell to let your new surroundings in, I was feeling the excitement bubble inside of me instead of those all too familiar jitters.
I was excited. Very much excited. I was excited to meet all Luke's friends again. I was excited to see the empty halls I saw yesterday filled with rushing students. I wanted to see the open doors of the cafeteria filled with buzzing conversations. And most of all I wanted to meet the basketball coach. I was excited to enjoy every single bit of it.
William and Emma were enrolled in new schools too. Just like me they were starting out today. Mom was starting her job at the school too. She has been a teacher for a long time now so getting a job in a new town wasn't really hard for her.
To be honest, we all were stepping out in a whole new world today and watching them all excited instead of nervous made me proud of them all.
Back to the guy who was my ride today since it was my first day. At first I was shy and bashful to ride with him but it all went out of the window when he bribed me with brownies when our mom's weren't watching. So basically his ride cost me my precious brownies which no one really gets the privilege to eat.
Since the ride started he's been singing off key. And at a very inappropriate loud pitch I might add. First classics then rock and the way he dabbed once had me clutching my sides but seriously if he won't stop now my ears are gonna bleed.
"Luke." I sigh again.
"Ellie."
I reach out for the radio and shut the damn thing off.
"Why would you do that?"
"To save myself and the world from your horrible singing. You will thank me someday."
He shoots me a flat look and I give him a cheeky grin.
"Hey Ellie?"
"What?"
"You look amazing today."
I turn towards him caught off-gaurd and he mischievously smiles at me. I narrow my eyes in suspicion and his grin widens even further.
"Are you flirting with me?"
"No. Just telling facts."
"Since we're there I'd like to state that you're wierd." I say but my cheeks warm up.
"No. I'm hot."
"Turn the AC on then."
"Hot meaning I'm hot. Like good looking hot." He gestures to himself and I chuckle waving my hand.
"Pfft." I laugh and he feigns a wounded look.
"You hurt me Ellie." He clutches his shirt where his heart is and sighs.
"I just heard my heart break in two."
"Ugh. You're so dramatic." I laugh and he smirks.
"We're here." He says pulling over and I grin steeping out of the car and slamming the door shut.
