CHAPTER 41: I Found A Friend.

I'll just sweep you off your feet and fix you with my love."

"You've got to be kidding me!"
"I'm not. He really did ask her out."
"Wow boy's got some balls after all."
I roll my eyes in response.
"Lilliana mind your foul mouth."
"Don't call me Lilliana, Claire."
"Don't call me Claire, Robinson. That's my middle name."
"You've got like two middle names. Eleanor Claire Mae Emmerson."
I crack a smile. "Blame my soon-to-be divorced parents."
She grimaces. "Ouch Els. That was harsh."
I rub my tired eyes and lean back on the pillows. "Why the hell are you calling me in the middle of the night? I told you I went to a beach party today and even if I didn't drink, I'm dead tired and feeling like I'm hungover."
"For someone who's tired you talk a lot."
"You know how it works Lils."
Her blonde hair slides down from her messy bun and she wraps them up in a loose ponytail. She exhales and the screen shuffles a bit as she adjusts in the covers. I grab my hot chocolate-which I made when she called me cause I know this talk is going to take a while- and take a long sip to freshen myself up.
"Alright start talking."
Her green eyes blink at me and she presses her lips in a thin line before giving an exaggerated fake yawn.
"You know what? I'm suddenly feeling really tired. You should rest too. Wouldn't want to mess your beauty sleep Princess."
I lower my cup slowly and narrow my eyes in slits to give her a stern look. "I said start talking."
She sighs and pouts. "Nothing really ever escapes you, does it?"
I tilt my lips up in a small smirk. "You're a shitty actress Lily. Please work on your fake yawns. They suck terribly."
"Screw you."
"I know you want to." I tease and she chuckles begrudgingly.
"If boys don't work out its good to know I can always have you." she winks and I grumble.
"Alright alright. So what's got you waking me up at this time? I'm sure it's not to tell me how much you'd love to screw me. You've tied your hair like five times now and we all know how much you hate doing that."
Her eyes twinkle and she smiles fondly. "I really love you."
I mock gasp. "This isn't the best time for love declarations Lils. I knew you always had the hots for me but you don't do love, do you?"
"I'm serious you idiot."
I smile lovingly. "I love you too. Now come on, talk to me."
"It's my parents." she whispers biting the corner of her lip thoughtfully.
I swallow and give her a soft smile. "What about them? Are they fighting again?"
She laughs bitterly. "There's no again Eleanor. They never stop. If there's one thing constant in their life, it isn't love it's their fights."
