CHAPTER 10: For Some Reason Your Face Seems Uglier .
"Caterpillar in the tree, how you wonder who you'll be
Can't go far but you can always dream."
-Miley Cyrus.
"Hey."
"Cut the pleasantries newbie." The one on the right sneers but her eyes tell a different story. Like she'd rather be eating her lunch than spend time with these uptights.
"Name's Eleanor." I say quietly so I don't come off too harsh.
"Wish your ugly face was as pretty as your name." The blonde smirks and I clench my fists.
Don't let them treat you like trash Ella.
"For some reason your face seems uglier. I mean c'mon there's nothing natural about it. Those fake eye lashes, those extensions and seriously do you have to apply all the makeup available in the mall? And that dress. Where did you get that from? Couldn't fit in your own size?" I say crossing my arms with a smug smile trying not to appear too fazed.
Oh God I said too much.
The other two gasp and blondie's cheeks flushes her hands tightly clenched by her side.
"So you think you're pretty huh? The only reason you don't dress up like us is either because you look like a deranged barbie or you just can't afford it."
Her lips curl into a smirk and she knows she hit a sore spot.
"Jesus. Grow up. This isn't middle school where you go around bullying people. Don't you have better things to do? Go shove that tongue into someone's throat than talking with it."
Her friends look like they're going to pass out but I'm sure they were far too entertained to miss this.
"Trying to be smart eh duckling?" She sneers taking a step forward.
Duckling? She can't be serious.
"I know I am." I take a step back.
"I don't care who you are ugly face. Stay away from Luke. Don't think you're all high and mighty just because he gave you a ride. You think you're smart huh, then fit that in your brain ugly, he's mine. "
So this is what it is about.
Luke.
My life is officially a novel.
For some reason I hate the way she talks about him. Like he belongs to her. I hate that she's stating a claim on him.
He's not hers.
Atleast I think.
"Plus I'm just saving you from your heartbreak. Guys like Luke belong to someone like me. Pretty, smart, charming personality. Not someone like you."
Enough!
"What do you know about heartbreaks Blondie? You certainly don't know Luke. You want to have something that can't be yours. You want him because he's hot and every girl here craves for him. You say my personality is shit? Try looking into yours. Begging for a guy's attention? Pathetic. I wouldn't do that in a thousand years. I'm all for fight for what you want. But don't fight for what you can't have, for what isn't yours cause in the end--" I pause and look her square in the eye,
"You might just lose."
Cue the hair flip.
With that I turn and leave.
