CHAPTER 24: Tea Always Helps.
"To get to you I'd walk a thousand miles."
-Backstreet Boys.
After the little debacle and the disastrous awkward breakfasts that ensued, the week dragged by drily, barely anything to look forward to. I was punished for my unruly-unladylike behaviour (mum's words not mine) adding to the unbearable torture. The coach worked our butts off all week for the upcoming match with our neighbouring school and I was more than ready to drop dead on my bed.
That is until Damon dropped the bomb.
"What!?" I exclaim throwing my hands up nervously.
Damon reaches out and lowers them giving my clasped hands a reassuring squeeze. "It'll be alright. Mum promised me she would keep it casual, she just wants to get to know you." He smiles.
"B-but--" I try to reason but he shakes his head.
"I know it hasn't been long since we started dating but she's going crazy to meet you. Please, you have to come." His eyes were pleading and he looked so hopeful I backtracked, slowly nodding my head.
"Okay." I agree sucking in a small nervous breath. "Okay I'll come."
His smile broadens into a beautiful grin and in that moment I would have done practically anything for him. He leans in and brushes his lips against mine, his heady cologne momentarily clouding my mind.
"Thank you so much baby." He murmurs dragging his lips to my jaw. My eyes flutter close but our whereabouts flash in my mind and I groan softly in protest.
"We are not doing this here." I breathe out.
He pulls back, his darkened eyes locking onto mine. "Let's move this to my car then." His voice had taken a deeper octave stirring the hairs on the back of my neck.
We were currently in the park having a small picnic that Damon had surprised me with after realising the hellish week I had. The entire school was talking about our little carnage in the hallways, I'm pretty sure it was on everyone's phone. It didn't take long for Damon to know what had happened. He was understanding and didn't seem to make a huge deal out of it but I knew he was a little upset that I didn't tell him anything especially after realising that Luke seemed to know everything.
He didn't bring up about that day and I was thankful. Instead after the long week of work, practices and dealing with Dad who was relentless about meeting me, Damon brought me to the park where we sat under a large oak tree eating chocolates and reading our favourite novels, just enjoying each others company in silence.
That is until he told me how his mum wanted to meet me. To be honest I was a bit surprised that he had no qualms about introducing me to his family so soon, but then again I had already met the half of them. But still the idea of meeting his parents and sitting between dozens of his sisters made me nervous and self-conscious.
His lips distract me as they continue their gentle assault, his hand giving my hip a small squeeze.
"What do you say?"
"I-I-" I stutter as I feel his lips tug in a smirk against my neck. Just when I'm about to tilt my head back so our lips would only be centimetres apart he pulls back grinning.
