Regrets

The Aftermath

The five members of the Saiyo family were incredibly shaken up after their encounter with Adam Oscars. They all had been bundled into an ambulance and rushed to the nearest hospital in New York to get their injuries sorted out.

But when they arrived Leona refused to be separated from her daughter so she and Yukiko had to get a shared room in the children's ward.

Aside from the odd cuts, bruises and minor burns they were alright, but the doctors wanted to keep them in for a day or two.

They had all been stripped and put in hospital gowns since their clothes were torn and covered in ashes.

Leo smiled at her daughter as she watched the little turtle scribble in a colouring book.

Suddenly the doors to their hospital room burst open and Leo saw a fearfully Raph standing there.

Leo felt herself relax. She had honestly thought that it was Adam coming back to take them.

"What tha hell happened?!" He exclaimed as he rushed over to the bed. Leona didn't say anything, instead she lifted up the newspaper and gave it to him.

The incident with Adam was front page news with their names.

"If he was still alive I would of killed that son of a bitch." He hissed, crushing the paper in his hands.

"You might get the chance, they haven't found his body yet."

"But their still lookin' right?"

Just then Tigerclaw and Alopex came inside. The mutant tiger nodded to Raph but didn't saying anything as Alopex smoothed her granddaughter.

Tigerclaw's arm was in a cast and sling

"Uh, they said that they'll be keeping us in for another day." Leo said.

"Yeah, we know, that's why we're going back to the house to get some clothes ready, do you want us to get some of Yukiko's toys?" She replied.

"Thanks, could you get Mr. Stuffington for her? She can't sleep without it."

Alopex nodded and the two mutants left the teen parents alone with their daughter...

When Tigerclaw pulled up outside the house he sighed when he saw police tape around the giant hole that was once their front door.

The tiger ripped the tape off and they went inside.

"So what do we need?" He asked once their were in the house.

"Some more clothes for the girls and that little teddy Yukiko loves." Alopex muttered in a monotone voice. Tigerclaw nodded and headed upstairs.

Alopex just sat on the couch in her own thoughts when there was a soft knocking on the broken door frame. Alopex went to see who it was and saw an old human man.

"Can I help you?" She asked nervously. Ever since she'd left the hospital there had been dozens of reporters following hounding them like the animals they were.

"Are you Alopex Saiyo?" He asked in a firm tone.

"Yes."

"I'm John Oscars, Adam's grandfather."...

"I just can't believe it." Raph said as they stood in the corner while the doctor checked over their daughter. "I knew tha guy was weird but I never thought he'd try and kill our baby."

"Let's not talk about it." Leo said. "I'm just glad we're safe."

Just then the doctor walked up to them.

"Well as you know there are no long-time injures but due to the amount smoke and water you and your daughter inhaled we're keeping you in overnight and you should be discharged by tomorrow afternoon." He smiled before leaving.

"Well that's good at least." She sighed.

"So ya lookin' forward ta tha exams?" Raph asked, trying to keep the mood light.

"I think I'm going to do a good job." She smiled.

"Well no duh!" Raphael exclaimed. "Ya one of tha smartest people in school, well, apart from my bro Donnie."

This earned him a laugh from her.

"Da!" Yuki suddenly exclaimed and held up the picture she was scribbling on. Raph took it and saw that it was a colouring picture of a fairy with a lot of red, green and yellow scribbles all over it.

"This is beautiful baby." He smiled and gave her a big kiss on the head.

Leo just smiled as she watched them...

"So what do you want?" Tigerclaw glared at John. They were all sat in the living room so they could talk.

"I want to know what happened, the police aren't any help, they hardly told me a thing, I didn't even know how he died until I saw the news." He exclaimed.

"He told me a lot about you." Alopex suddenly said to him. "He told me how you and his grandmother pretended to be his parents and how for fourteen years he thought his mother was his sister."

"We thought it was for the best." He glared at her. "Our daughter was only fifteen, she had her whole life in front of her and all of that would of gone to waste with a baby."

"Our daughter had a baby at fifteen except we didn't take her baby away." She hissed.

"Well your daughter's probably a waste of space!"

"That's enough!" Tigerclaw boomed. "If all you came here for was to slag my family off you can leave!"

"I want to know how mt grandson end up being burnt to death in an abandoned house!" He shouted at them.

"YOU WANNA KNOW DO YOU??!!!" Alopex screamed at him as she stood up and stood toe to toe with him.

"Yeah, I do!"

"ALRIGHT!! ADAM OSCARS TRIED TO MAKE ME AND TIGERCLAW GET A DIVORCE AND MARRY ME, BUT WHEN I TOLD HIM NO HE KIDNAPPED ME AND MY FAMILY! THE FIRE WAS AN ACCIDENT, HE DIED BECAUSE HE WAS TOO BUSY TRYING TO KILL US THEN ESCAPE!!!" She screamed at his face before slumping back into her chair.

John sighed as he too sat back down.

"This isn't the first time this has happened." He admitted, much too their horror.

"What?!" Tigerclaw glared.

"When we told him the truth he went to stay at a family friend's farm and her family loved him, but once he was there he started to change, he became obsessed with her and tried to remove all the men from her life, when that didn't work he tried to attack her but her husband got to him first. He was arrest and placed in a hospital where he was diagnosed with erotomania." He explained.

"But why was he released?" Alopex asked.

"He was released a year later because the staff decided he was a changed man who had put his past behind him." He answered before standing up. "Thank you for your time and I'm so sorry for what my so-grandson did to you and your family." John said before leaving.

The couple just watched him leave...
