After Exams

"Dad?" Mikey called as he came down for breakfast. The old rat was sat in the kitchen staring at his tea as if something was growing on it.

"What?" He mumbled.

"Is there any bread left?"

"No son." He sighed as Raphael came down. He didn't say anything and sat on the couch with a huff. Yoshi glared at him for a moment before going back to glare at his tea.

"Dad..." Raph finally said.

"Don't say anything because I just don't want to know." He hissed.

"I'm sorry about yesterday, I don't want ya ta be upset."

"Well it's too late for that."

"I had ta do it, I felt like I was gonna go mad."

"You didn't even try, you just walked out!" He growled. "Don't think you're going to be wasting the summer here, get up and get working, your days of a free ride are over!" He said before storming off upstairs...

Things in the Saiyo house wasn't much better. As soon as Alopex heard about what had happened she made sure the whole family knew how she felt about it.

"You've got to remember where your priorities lie." She said as Leo stared out the window in a daze. "There's only two things you need to worry about: Yukiko and your exams! Not some wild dream about running of with Raphael to college!"

"Mom, why are we still going on about this? It's never gonna happen so why are you so angry about it?!"

"I'm angry because you think you can drag a two and a half year old girl half way across the country!"

"Well who's little girl is she?!"

"Oh, right, so you don't want me to babysit anymore, take her to daycare, do her ironing?!" 

"Alright you help out!"

"Yes I do and I'll only continue to help out if you knuckle down to your exams and forget about Raphael Hamato!" She shouted...

Raph sighed as he walked down the street. He was looking around the city for a job but he hadn't had any luck. He looked up just in time to see Leona walking passed.

"Leo, wait!" He called and ran up to her.

"I'm surprised you're talking to me at all, considering me and my 'brat' have ruined you life and that." She glared.

"I'm sorry about yesterday, me Dad was way out of line." He replied.

"Well he doesn't have to worry anymore, does he?" She sighed and started walking away.

"So that's it? Ya just gonna walk away?"

"What do you expect Raph?!" She exclaimed. "I'm the one who's been painted as the bad guy in all this!"

Raph just sighed as he watched her walk away...

When Leo came home after work she saw that her mother had gone out with Yuki, Kitsune was no where to be found and Tigerclaw was at work. She quickly reached into her bag and pulled out a dozen flyers.

They were about apartments to rent.

She knew that it was a risky move but she just couldn't stay in the same house with Alopex any longer. She knew that sounded harsh but after the incident with Adam the fox had been more controlling and possessive over her and daughter.

Suddenly door opened and Leo shoved the flyers back into her bag.

"Hey." Alopex smiled as she walked in with Yuki. "You aright?"

"Yeah, just tired after work." She smiled back, but once Alopex was gone her smile dropped and she sighed...
