Regrets

Raphael swallowed the heavy lump in his throat as he ran down the street to his apartment, praying to the Gods that Leona and Yukiko were there waiting for him. He dashed up the stairs and almost pulled the front door open. His heart, however, sunk when he found the apartment dark and empty.

He ran to their's and Yukiko's rooms but found almost all of the girls' stuff had gone.

They had left, but he had no idea where. He didn't want to call her, he wanted to speak to her in person so he could explain to her why he left the way he had. He really did love her and Yuki with all his heart. He knew what he did was awful. He really did want to marry Leo; right up until the last minute he was just as excited as she was.

But that's when he suddenly realised that they were talking for the rest of their lives.

He just panicked. He didn't know what he was thinking when he left, he just had to get away for a bit. He needed to clear his head. It was all happening so quick; the wedding and everything. It wasn't Leona or Yuki, it was the wedding. He does want to marry her and he hoped it wasn't too late...

Raphael was gasping for air as he made a dash to Tigerclaw and Alopex's house. He knew that's where'd they be, but he hoped her family would let her through the front door. He looked up and saw April and Casey heading his way. He gulped. Seemed they had just come from the Saiyo house and he thought he could see dried tear streaks on April's cheeks.

But when she saw the green eyed turtle, her blank expression turned into one of fury.

She marched away from her boyfriend and slapped Raph right across the face.

"I knew you were scum but I didn't think you'd pull a stunt like this!!" She screamed into his face.

"What?" He asked as he rubbed his sore cheek.

"Casey and me were there remember?! I saw how broken she was when you walked out!! You should be ashamed of yourself!!"

"I am!"

"No you're not! If you were you would of been back sooner!" Casey glared.

"It's not just Leo you walked out on, you also left Yuki as well! Do you have any idea how confused and upset that poor child was?!"

"No, but I'm here now!"

"It's too late now mate." Casey sighed as he led his pregnant girlfriend away.

Raph frowned in confusion before running to the Saiyo house...

Alopex sighed as she washed the dishes from last night's dinner, trying to get her head around her daughter and granddaughter going to Japan forever. She knew that she was the one who encouraged them to go and she and her husband would visit every holiday and birthday. But it just wasn't the same.

She sighed as she waited for her husband to come home.

Suddenly her mind wandered to Raphael Hamato and she gritted her teeth at the thought of her daughter's ex lover. She swore that if she ever saw that turtle ever again she'd killed. Just then there was a hard knocking on the door. She flinched before regaining her senses she dried her hands off and opened the door.

She saw red and within seconds Raphael was knocked to the ground with a bloody face.

He'd forgotten that Leo's mother was also a ninja master.

"What the fuck are you doing here you sack of shit!!" She cursed. Normally she wouldn't swear but with what Raphael had done to her family she didn't care anymore.

"I-Is she here?" He gulped knowing that there was a good chance he was going to die today.

"You've got a lot of nerve coming here asking that!! AFTER ALL YOU'VE DONE?!"

"Please!" He begged. "I just need to explain!"

"Yes you do! But you can make you're pathetic apology and say your goodbyes by phone!"

"What? What tha shell are ya talkin' about; goodbye?"

"She's gone, she's taken Yuki and moved to Japan with my mother and they aren't coming back, all because of you!" She snarled before a glimmer of evil lashed in her enraged eyes. "She also tore up your ticket and said that you'd made your choice, now get on with your life!" She spat and slammed the door in his face.

Moments later, tears flooded her eyes when she realised what she had done. She had just broken her promise to her daughter, but it was done now. There was no going back now. She scowled and looked at the ticket on the coffee table Leo had left for Raph in case he ever came back.

She quickly picked the ticket, tore it up and threw it into the trash.

It was better for everyone this way...

By the time night came, Raphael was slumped on a park bench, his clothes a mess and a bottle of vodka in his hand with tears streaming down his face. He knew he had completely fucked up with his life. And the worst of it was that he knew there was no fixing it. He'd lost the woman he loved and his child.

All because he was too much of a coward and jilted her at the alter.

He'd abandoned the love of his life and his child. Oh god, what's Leo going to tell Yuki when she's older? What was his daughter going to think of him? Would she even remember him when she's older? Would Leo marry and that man would be the father he couldn't? Leona' parents were right about him.

She deserved much better than the likes of him.

A shadow suddenly towered over him and he looked up and saw his father looking down at him with a stern gaze and a stiff posture. Raph just slumped his head, too drunk and upset to care what the rat did to him. He was caught off guard when the old man suddenly sat beside him and wrapped his arms around him.

He looked up and saw his father looking ahead with a blank expression.

"I know it doesn't feel like it right now, my son, but you're making the right choice." He soothed and Raph buried his face in Yoshi's shoulder and sobbed.

No matter what the rat said, he knew this was always going to be the biggest regret of his life...
