It had been a few days since Vicky White's visit to Leona's and Raphael's apartment and things had cooled down for the moment. April sighed as she entered the cafe where Leo worked.

Her mother had sent her to get some breakfast because she couldn't be bothered cooking them some.

The human teen was shocked to find Leo in there cleaning tables.

"You're in here early aren't you?" She asked her mutant friend.

"Not anymore, I'm working here full time now."

"What about college, I thought you wanted to go?"

"I do but I'll look into it when Yuki's a bit older."

"Do you're parents know you're working here?"

"I don't see why I should, it's none of their business."

"I would if I were you, I'm sure they'd want to hear about from your mouth instead of someone else." April chuckled before going to make her order...

Later that afternoon Leo was at the apartment with Raph and Yuki.

"She's just gone to sleep." She told him after leaving Yuki's room. "I don't think she'll wake up but if she does you'll be alright won't you?"

"Why, ya goin' somewhere?" He asked, not looking up from his newspaper.

"Yeah, I'm gonna go see my Mom."

"What fer?"

"Well sooner or later she's bound to find out that I'm now working full time, either she's going to come into the cafe while I'm working or someone's gonna tell her, she'll go mad if she hears it from someone else." She explained as she got her coat on.

"She'll go mad anyway."

"I'm sick of avoiding her." She admitted with a sigh. "At least if I tell her she won't start complaining about being the last person to hear about it."

Raph just sighed and went back to reading his paper...

When Leona arrived at her old family home she went inside and found Alopex washing up in the kitchen. The teenage turtle quickly explained to her mouth that she was now working full time, but the fox showed no emotion.

"I know you're going to say that I should not of gone onto full time so I could spend more time with Yuki." She added nervously.

"No." Alopex sighed. "I'm not going to even bother."

"You're not?"

"Would it make any difference if I did? Would you say to your boss 'sorry, can't work for you anymore'?"

"No, I've made my mind up and this is what I want to do."

"So I'm not going to even try and make you see sense."

"We've talked it all through, me and Raph, and we think this is for the best; I wish you'd try and understand."

"Oh I understand." Alopex glared. "I understand that you do what you want to do and you don't let any arguments get in the way of that."

"Mom, I'm not a kid anymore, I'm capable of making my own decisions about my own life."

"I'll remind you you said that one day." She said with a stoic face.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean the day's going to come when you've realised you've thrown your life away, that it's all gone wrong and it's too late to pick up the pieces and when that day comes you'll swear it was my fault, I should of told you, well I have told you Leona and you just wouldn't listen."

"You're just bitter because-"

"Because I know what's going to happen?" She glared. "That one day Raphael will open his eyes and realised he's walked into a dead end? And you know what, he'll start to hate you, because that's what men do; he'll say he's sick of living in poverty and it's all your fault."

"He'll never be like that." Leo glared.

"I know I'm wasting my breath." She sighed. "I know I can't stop you ruining your own life, but I'm warning you now, you drag Yukiko down with you don't expect me to stand by and let it happen, you neglect her you'll have me to answer to." She glared...

It wasn't long until Leona made it back to the apartment. Yuki was still asleep and Raph quickly made her some tea.

"So what did she say?" He asked as he handed her the cup.

"She didn't shout at me but she did say some horrible things." She sighed.

"Like what?"

"She said that one day you were gonna hate me cause you didn't go to college, that you'd blame me and say that I ruined your life, that we'd never have any money and that we'd get tired of having a horrible life and that'll be the end of us." She glared.

She suddenly turned and looked Raphael in the eyes.

"It won't be like that will it?" She asked.

"No, it'll never be like that, I promise ya." He smiled and pulled her into a hug...

An hour after Leona left Alopex quickly rushed to the phone and dialled a number.

"This is Alopex Saiyo, Leona Saiyo's mother." She said once someone picked up. "I'm ringing about Yukiko Saiyo, I think you should know that Leona and Raphael are leaving her alone in that apartment."...
