One To One

"So what's wrong now?" Kitsune sighed as as sat next to Alopex. When her daughter came home from the var with Tang Shen last night she was in a bad mood and Kitsune was really worried about her.

"Nothing much." Alopex sighed. "Just discovered Leona would rather have a stranger looking after my granddaughter than me, apart from that life's great."

"What stranger?"

"Catherine Aiuto." She frowned. "They're best friends apparently.

"And what is so wrong with that?"

"After all I've for Leona?"

"Oh Alopex, you didn't have a row about it did you?" She groaned.

"Well I wasn't pleased."

"You need to give her some space, the more you push her the more she'll run away, she need's time after all that's happened."

"I know." She sighed...

That night Leona and Raphael got a nice visit from April. Yuki was fast asleep in her bedroom and her parents were bored out of their minds when their friend came over.

"Ya not out with Casey tonight?" Raph asked as he grabbed a pack of beers from the fridge.

"No, he's grounded for a week, he got arrest for spray painting cars but they let him off with a warning; how come you two aren't out tonight, I'll babysit if you want?" She offered.

"We went out two nights ago and I'm too tired."

"Fighting with your mother taken a lot out of you? It's all around about how she interrogating you at work yesterday."

"What do you mean? What's she been saying?"

"She's upset about Catherine Aiuto babysitting instead of her." April shrugged.

"What's it to you." Leo sighed, not in the mood for a fight.

"Leo, at least be a bit more tactful." 

"Why should I?!"She glared at her friend.

"Because she has do a lot for you."

"Yeah like reporting us to Social Services and trying to get Yuki taken into care!"

"So what, are you gonna fall out forever?! Never talk to each other again?!" April hissed.

"I'm going to bed." Leo growled as she stood up.

"Leo, you can't just walk away like that!"

"I am tired, and I'm sick of talking about my mother." Leo glared before storming into her bedroom and closing the door.

"I'm sorry Raph, I didn't mean to get heavy." April sighed.

"It's fine."

"No it's just... it upsets me to see those two fighting."

"Don't worry 'bout it." Raph shrugged as he took another drink from his beer can.

"I better go." She sighed and grabbed her coat.

"Nah, stay if ya want, I ain't goin' ta bed any time soon." He grinned, slightly drunk. "So how are thing's with Casey?"

"Tiring, it's like I'm dating a little kid, he drives me nuts sometimes." She sighed.

"I know what ya mean." Raph chuckled and April raised an eyebrow. "I love Leo but it's not what I thought it'd be."

"In what way."

"Ya know, living together all tha time, I love her but it's not what it was." He sighed.

"Well you do have a kid now, that can put a strain on things."

Raph just nodded slowly.

Suddenly he leaned forward and planted a kiss on the human's lips. April gasped before quickly slapping him in the face, hard.

As soon as he fell back she grabbed her coat and stormed out the apartment.

The slap seemed to sober Raph up a bit and all he could think was: 'Oh Crap!'...
