Kiss And Breakup

Raph didn't get a wink of sleep that night. He sat on the couch thinking about how he had kissed April. He looked at Leo's bedroom door and gulped.

What was she going to think?

He looked at the clock in the kitchen and saw that it was nearly half seven. He sighed and got up to get some breakfast...

Later that day Raph went to see Leo at work. He had just dropped Yuki off at daycare and he hadn't seen the hide or hair of April all day.

"Hey." He smiled awkwardly as he walked up to the counter. "Hard day?"

"Well my boss has been at the dentist all day and I splashed my arm with boiling water." She whined and showed him her arm.

But he just stared at the floor.

"Thanks for caring." She huffed.

"What? I do care." He quickly said. "Have ya seen April?"

"No, why? Was I supposed to?"

"No! I-I was just askin'; ya wanna have a quiet night in tonight?

"That'll be nice."...

That afternoon Raph was waiting with Yuki for Leo to get home from work. She said that she had some pies from work that they could eat.

Just then Leo walked in.

"Hey Raph, guess who bumped into the outside." She smiled and, much to Raph's horror, April walked in.

The human had a cold and emotionless look on he face as she stared at the male turtle.

While Leo was in the bathroom April walked right up to Raph.

"You better tell her or I will." She growled as Leo came back in. April shot him another glare before going to play with Yuki in her room.

"What were you guys talking about?" She asked. "Is it about Casey? What's he done now?"

"It's not Casey." He sighed. "It's about me, it's about us."

"What? Tell me."

"He's playing with your mind." April snarled as she left Yuki's room.

"Don't." He pleaded, but she ignored him.

"What's going on?"

"He's messing you around Leo; your boyfriend kissed me last night."

"Leo, don't listen ta her, she just wants ta cause trouble!" Raph denied.

"I don't understand, has my family put you up to this?"

"No," April replied. "They don't know anything about this."

"April, you're mad, I know Raph and he wouldn't do something like that."

"He did! He kissed me on the lips and he meant it!"

"She's lying!"

"Why would I lie? You're my best friend Leo and I want you to be happy."

"Will ya shut it!" Raph snarled.

"Not until you admit it!"

"There's nothin' ta admit!"

"You know there is!  You can stand there and deny it but we both know what happened and I'm not gonna let you get away with it! I won't let you hurt Leo again!"

"I wouldn't hurt her!"

"Then why did you kiss me??!!"

"I DON'T KNOW!!!" He shouted but then froze. He turned around and saw Leo looking at him in shock.

"You kissed her?" She asked in disbelief.

"Yeah." He sighed in defeat as he hung his head in shame.

April sent him one last glare before storming out...

After April had left Leo and Raph sat on the couch to talk. After a few moments of awkward silence, she cleared her throat.

"Have you ever felt like this before?" She asked.

"No, well, maybe I have but I didn't realize it, I don't know." He sighed.

"I thought you wanted us to try again, to be a proper family."

"I do."

"Then why did  you kiss my best friend?!" She exclaimed. "I'm trying to understand this but I can't!"

"I do love you." He told her. "That's tha one thing I'm certain of."

"I don't believe you." She replied with tears in her eyes.

"Ya have ta, I never meant fer any of this ta happen, Leo!"

"What difference does it make? It has happened! You say that you love me and I wanna believe you but I can't!"

"Please Leo, I love you."

"If you did love me you wouldn't have done what you did!"

"I do love ya and what happened had nothin' ta do with ya!"

"It never has anything to do with me! It's like when you walked out of your exams and that had nothing to do with me did it?!?!"

"Listen ta me, Leo! I've never kissed another girl other than you before, not even those years we were apart."

"When you kissed April did you want her to kiss you back?"

"I don't know."

"Did you want to go to bed with her?!"

"No!"

"How could you let me think everything was alright?! I thought you were happy; I know we haven't got much money but I thought that everything would be alright as long as we had each other! You lied to me!"

"I didn't!"

"You did! I hate you!" She shouted before going into her bedroom and grabbing a large bag.

"What ya doin'?" He asked in horror as he watched her fill the bag with clothes.

"I'm leaving."

"Ya can't!"

"Yes I can, because I'm not like you Raphael, I know what I want!"

"I know what I want! I want you and Yuki!"

"Come, Yuki, we're going." She hissed as she took Yuki's hand. Raph could only sob as they left the apartment...
