Second Chances

Leona yawned and stretched as she stepped out the bedroom, only to see Raphael sat on the couch, clutching the phone tightly in his hand. She took one look at his face and knew that something was wrong.

"Raphie, are you OK?" She asked as she sat next to him.

"Just got a call from Dad." He glared.

"What does he want?"

"My Grandfather, Yuuta Hamato, is in tha hospital and he's really sick, tha doctors don't think he'll make it, Dad wants me, my brothers and my Mom ta fly out with him ta Japan tomorrow."

"What about me and Yuki?" She frowned and he sighed.

"I don't know, my Mom wants ta know if I'm comin' with them by tonight; I'm going down there later to talk ta them."

"Should I go with you?"

"Yeah, it'll show me Dad we're really serious." He smiled before giving her a quick kiss and dashing off to work...

Later that morning Leona groaned for what felt like the fifth time that morning. It seemed that Yukiko had decided to be a little pain as she refused to get dressed, eat her breakfast or go to daycare.

"Yuki! No!" Leo frowned when Yuki once again took her shoes off.

Suddenly there was a knock door. Leo gave her daughter a quick, disappointed frown before going to see who it was. She was shocked to see that it was Catherine.

"I'm so sorry, I heard about Raphael's grandfather and I just had to see if you were all alright, it was like my Eroina all over again." She rambled as she squeezed passed Leo and into the living room.

"I'm so sorry Catherine, I'm really not trying to get rid of you but I need to get Yuki to daycare so I can go with Raph to talk to his parents." Leo quickly explained as Catherine knelt down by the turtle tot.

"Poor little soul, for this to happen so soon after losing her Granny."Catherine said as Yuki played with her bear.

"I don't really think she understands."

"Oh she understands about your mother and how she's gone to heaven."

"I know but-"

"Well why don't I take her to daycare and save you a trip." The older woman offered but Leo seemed a bit hesitant. "Leona please, I know you're still angry with me but I am only trying to help out."

"Yeah, that'd be great thanks." She smiled and handed Catherine, Yuki's coat. As they left the apartment, Leo couldn't shake the feeling something was wrong...

"So where's Yuki?" Raph asked as they drove up to his parents' house. Leo shifted knowing that he wasn't looking forward to her answer.

"Catherine took her to daycare."

Raph suddenly slammed on the breaks and she almost smashed her head against the dashboard. 

"What?!"

"Look Raph-"

"No! We agreed that we'd keep that freak away from our daughter and now yer lettin' her take her ta daycare a two weeks after she abducted her?!"

"She didn't abduct her!"

"Ya know what I mean!"

"Enough!" She suddenly exclaimed. "That woman has just lost her daughter and me and Yuki are really the only family she has left, and I'm not letting her spend Christmas alone so I'm sorry if you don't like it, you'll just have to live with it!"

Raph wanted to protest before just growled before starting the car again...

Yoshi sighed as he paced around the living room while himself, his wife, Donatello and Michelangelo all waiting for Raphael to come over and discuss their trip to Japan to visit Hamato Yuuta.

However, the truth was, Yoshi's father was indeed ill, but he was life threatening ill like he had told his son. Now people may think he was a cruel man, but Yoshi was just trying to save his son from the biggest mistake of his life.

He knew that Raphael thought he loved Leona and her daughter and the old rat knew that she wasn't as bad as the things he said but he was just trying to stop them from screwing up both their lives.

He hoped that if he could get Raph away from Yukiko and Leo he would recognise the taste of freedom and leave them.

Suddenly there was a knock on the front door and Mikey went to answer it. Yoshi frowned when he saw Leona walk in with Raphael.

"What is she doing here?" He glared, only for Leona to glare right back at him.

"She's me girlfriend and tha mother of my child, so let me make this as clear as possible, if I go ta Japan then Leo and Yuki gotta come with me." Raph said firmly.

"No! I will only have honourable, family members anywhere near my Father in his hour of need."

"Yukiko is a member of yer family, in case ya've forgotten, she's yer granddaughter!"

"ENOUGH!" Yoshi shouted. "That bastard is no granddaughter of mine! There's still no proof that she's even your's except or this whores word!" He snarled and pointed at Leo as he said that.

The next sound was a hard slap.

Everything froze in that moment. Tang Shen and her sons stood there in complete shock as Yoshi held his cheek, glaring at an angry Leo.

"I've had enough of you slagging off me and my daughter! It's been four fucking years and you still can't get over the fact that me and Raph are in love and have a child together! I was actually hoping that maybe you'd matured enough to swallow your pride and maybe you'd want to spend time with your granddaughter; but I should of know better, you'll always bee a miserable son of a bitch!!" She shouted before storming out the house.

As she went passed him, Raph jolted out of his shocked state and sent his dad a glare before following after his girlfriend.

Yoshi could only stand there, holding his sore cheek in shock...
