Use lists and make priorities:
Envision what the upcoming week will be like and list the things that need to get done. Keep it simple and set yourself an achievable goal for every single day of the week. Rate all of your tasks from most-to-least important, as this will remind you what to focus on first.
•
Spend time in quality, not quantity:
Instead of pulling an all-nighter, or spending several hours on a single task, spend your time with quality! Working on something for a very long time is often overwhelming and completely useless. When studying, don't just read your textbook for an entire hour; create flash cards and take notes on important parts instead. It is also crucial that you give yourself 5-10 minute breaks for every 30-50 minutes of work.
•
Plan your entire day:
It may not go completely as you had planned but it is better to have a daily schedule to look at instead of just doing what feels less boring or productive. For instance, you can plan to be at the gym from 1-2pm then do homework from 3-4 pm, etc.
•
Say no:
Sometimes it feels great to spend the day before your exam go hang out with your friends or make plans that don't involve studying. If you really want to achieve something, there will be times that you have to miss out on a party or a date. You can't constantly add more to your schedule; set your limits.
•
Multitask:
I'm not saying you should study two different subjects at the same time, because that is useless. However, if you were to exercise and read a book, that can be done at the same time. It all depends on the tasks.
•
Don't stress:
Remind yourself that it's okay if you couldn't get everything done. We're all human and are capable of only so much. Time isn't always going to be enough. Completing of just starting one task is okay, at least you tried and did something.
