Nick came into the room.
“Are you okay?” He said softly.
“I could’ve told him, but I didn’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without him; I mean I have my first scan in a few weeks.” Florence was starting to freak out.
“Hey, Florrie, chill.” Nick pulled her into a hug.
“I feel like breaking down. I should’ve told him.” She buried her head in his chest.
“Look, everything will be fine.”
Dan had forgotten his jacket and ran back. He entered.
Nick was holding Florence close as she sobbed into his shoulder.
“So you can tell him.” Dan retorted.
Nick pushed Florence away and walked up to Dan. Florence grabbed him.
“Nick. Don’t.” She said firmly despite her previous sobs.
“Florence get out of the way, I can take him.” Dan grunted.
“Famous last words wimpy kid.” Nick sneered taking a swing at Dan. Dan dodged.
“At least I’m not a wife stealer.” Dan’s clenched fist hit Nick’s jaw.
“She’s been teaching you I see. Only one thing though, I wouldn’t leave her when she needed me most.” He kneed Dan in the chest.
“Daniel…” Florence’s words couldn’t get out.
“You were dead though. And she told me to go.” They circled round the table.
“Dan, she always needs you and you just leave her.” Nick taunted, Dan jumped onto the long table and ran towards him. Nick tripped him up with his arm and Dan’s back hit the table, he winced in pain.
“I just don’t see why she can tell you her problems. You’re a liar and so is she.” Dan was out of breath from the earlier blow to his chest.
“I listen to her, she deserves so much more than you.” Nick spat. Dan tried to hit him but Nick knocked him out. Florence squealed. She slapped Nick.
“Oh great, oh this is just great. You’re such an idiot Nick.”
“I’m the idiot; your husband is the idiot. I thought he was better but evidently you’re rubbish at choosing the right guy!” He yelled and stormed out.
