Florence giggled at the cold gel on her belly.
“Do you have any names planned?” The anti-natal nurse asked.
“We haven’t really had time.” Dan smirked.
“At least you’ve still got a couple of months to figure it out.” She was quite cheery.
The nurse shifted the transducer probe across Florence’s stomach.
Dan and Florence stared at the screen and smiled at each other.
“He or she is so beautiful.” Dan kissed Florence’s forehead.
The nurse grinned. “It may be a he and a she.”
“Say what?” Florence blurted.
“You have twins.”
“Nick is always right.” Florence stated.
“I hate to admit it but yes he is.” Dan replied.
“We will obviously have to monitor their growth…” The nurse went off into a world of medical and baby history. Florence and Dan just nodded.
‘How on earth will I get to the next scan if we’re running?’ Florence thought.
‘Wow, twins, okay, okay, do not freak out.’ Dan was thinking.
“I’ll leave you to get ready and when you’re done you can just walk out.” The nurse said and walked out.
Florence wiped the gel off and put her t-shirt on. Dan wrapped his arms around her and placed his hands on her belly.
“How are we going to do this?” Dan whispered.
Florence turned around and kissed him.
“What was that for?”
“It has been so long.”
“It’s been six days.”
“And I usually see you every day, it’s hard for me."
“Me too. So why did you stop kissing me?” He laughed.
