“Because we need to run again. I’m sorry about this Daniel.”
“It isn’t your fault.” He reassured her.
“I don’t want you to get hurt.”
“I don’t want you to get hurt; you are safe where you are.”
“Dan, I started hallucinating and I nearly kissed Nick.”
“Let’s go!” He said straight away. Florence walked over to the window and opened it.
Meanwhile, Nick had told Mara he needed some air and went outside. He grabbed some rope and a grapple hook he’d placed behind a bin about an hour before. Steadily he swung it and it gripped to the window sill where the window had just been opened.
“Hey guys.” He waved. Florence pulled some plastic gloves over her hands and maneuvered her self out of the window with Dan’s help. She grabbed the rope and slid down from the third floor of a four storey building to the ground.
“I haven’t done this since that time in Paris.” She yelled down to Nick. She lost her grip at the last two metres, she held her breath and braced for impact. Nick caught her.
“Was I right?” He asked her.
“Right about what?” She responded.
“Is it twins?”
“Yes, they are, yes. Thank you for catching me.” She hugged him.
“Can I put you down? I’m carrying three people here.” He joked, dropping her to her feet.
“INCOMING!” Dan came down like a fireman. “Oh man it burns!” He groaned. He reached the ground and Florence came over to him.
“You didn’t put the gloves on did you?” She said examining his hands.
He shook his head. “When we get to wherever, I’ll treat it. I’m hoping where we go does have medical supplies.” She faced Nick.
“We’re next to a hospital Florence.”
“But there are teams of spies around, we need to hijack a car, NOT A BUS, go to a base and get some medical supplies then get out and go on the run again in a different car.” Florence ranted at him.
“Oh Flo, chill!!!” He answered. She creased her forehead. “I’m pregnant Nick, I cannot chill.” She said and signaled for him to go hijack someone’s car.
