Nick swerved quickly and they got in. Florence helped Dan with his seat belt.
“They would have realized by now, they’ll be sending patrols keep low and Dan give me your hat and sunnies.” Nick said and Florence passed them to him.
Dan and Florence laid low on the seat. Florence looked at Dan’s hands.
“I’m sorry I should have said something.” Florence started.
“The rope burns are my fault. I’m just wondering whether you’re okay.” He replied.
“I’m fine…”
“No she isn’t.” Nick interrupted her.
“She’s already told me about the hallucinating.” Dan said ignoring Florence.
“I was sleepy okay, I thought I was dreaming.”
“Or you just wanted to kiss him.”
“He refused anyway.”
“Nick I am surprised.” Dan said shocked.
“Dude I wouldn’t take advantage of a pregnant lady.” Nick replied nearly running a red. He emergency braked. “Sorry.”
Meanwhile, Mara drove back to the Operative base annoyed and slightly scared.
Zach greeted her. “How is she?”
“They ran.”
“WHAT?!” He slapped her to the ground.
“I didn’t know they were going to, your men didn’t patrol the back area.” She grunted at him.
“I put you in charge.” He stamped on her wrist, it cracked and she screamed out in pain. He then ordered two of his men to take her to the infirmary.
“I will not hesitate to kill her Mara.” Zach smiled at her.
“She will end you!” She spat on him and he grabbed her hair.
He kissed her but she head butted him. “I hate you!”
Zach turned in anger and left her.
