Chapter 45 - FINALLY!!!

 “How old are you?”

“Sixteen.” He replied.

“I feel so old now; sorry I missed out on your life. I always wanted a little brother.”

“It’s fine, mum has told me loads about you and when she goes out to check on you, sometimes I tag along.”

“You’re a good kid Riley. So, where are we gonna do this call?”

“They don’t have cameras under the bridge, if we stand under it no-one should spot us, we just have to be quiet and quick.” He suggested.

“Great, you keep an eye out.” They walked to the bridge not attracting much attention.

Florence pulled her phone out and pressed Dan’s number.

Dan’s phone started ringing.

“IT’S FLORENCE.” He yelled then answered it, “Oh Lorry are you alright?” He put it on speakerphone.

“I’m fine, mum is with the Operative, and I don’t have much time. You can enter through the Oxfam shop in Drury Lane, approach the old lady and say: We only want one thing, one thing everyone wants… she will then say Co-operation? Then you say Co-operative. The base leads to an underground, with an outside, well I call it an outside it’s still inside.” Florence went on.

“We don’t have much time.” Riley warned her.

“Who’s that?” Dan asked.

“That doesn’t matter, Daniel I’m pregnant!” She hung up as quickly as possible.

Dan dropped his phone. “She’s…pregnant?” Woody got him to sit down.

“I knew it, I was wondering why she was throwing up all the time and she had a pregnancy test in her bag.” Woody said.

Dan’s eyes filled with tears. He was angry but he was also happy and scared.

“Dan we need to work quickly, they’re gonna find out Florence has a phone and then they will hurt her. Only a few people have escaped from the Operative and they all usually end up dead after a while. I did know she was pregnant yes so that’s why we’ve been closer.”

“Closer, YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME!!!” Dan yelled. “I’m sorry, sorry.” He said and walked out to gather his thoughts.
