“SAME!!!” Nick exclaimed.
“Who doesn’t cry at Miss Potter? Anyway, let’s not sidetrack. What’s our plan?” Florence interrupted them.
“Run…hide…run some more?” Dan joked.
“Run as fast as you can, they can’t catch you because you’re Bastille Dan!” Nick rhymed.
“Seriously?” Florence whacked both their heads.
“Running is all that we can do, if we fight back, we die.” Dan said dramatically.
“You should write a crime story one day. Daniel Smith, Author. Got a nice ring to it.” Nick commented.
Dan smiled and nodded. Florence shook her head slightly fed up.
“You can sleep here.” Her Aunt offered.
“Thank you, but we have already put you in enough danger.” Florence kindly refused.
“You should listen to her, we all need rest and anyway I could call a team for protection.” Nick persuaded.
“Would that be alright?” She turned to her Aunt who nodded eagerly. “Thank you.”
Her Aunt gathered her children and through a coded message, protection came. Florence hugged her Aunt and they apologized to each other many times.
The evening soon approached. Gwen had been grieving over her father’s death and had shut herself away in the downstairs toilet.
Nick sat in the kitchen drinking a beer, looking now and then out of the window to see if everything was okay.
Dan was sat on the sofa with Florence’s head on his chest. He sighed.
“Are you okay? How are your hands?” She sat up with a worried look in her eyes.
“All I did was sigh, I’m tired. They hurt a little.”
“I’ll redress them and then you can get some sleep.”
“WE can get some sleep, the babies need it.” Dan placed his hands on her baby bump. “Isn’t that right kids?” He placed his ear against her belly. “I’m pretty sure Jemima started singing Flaws right then.” Dan smirked and Florence giggled.
“You’re going to be an amazing dad.” She kissed his nose and blushed.
