Florence sat talking to Dan.
“They have the band; kind of glad you came back otherwise you’d have been caught too.” Florence blushed.
“Do you just blush at everything?” Dan asked and she started giggling. “That’s a yes then.”
“That lady keeps staring at me weirdly.”
“Which lady?”
“The boss, the one you and Nick were talking to. Who is she?”
“She looks familiar doesn’t she?” Dan muttered. Florence nodded.
“I must’ve seen her face somewhere before. Anyway, I don’t know what we’re going to do about the band. It’s clearly a trap but we can’t just leave them.”
Dan gestured for her to come and lay next to him. She put her head on his right shoulder making sure she wasn’t hurting his chest. “Everything will be fine.” He reassured her.
“I’m sorry about all of this, if I was open with you, Nick wouldn’t have beaten you up. If we hadn’t met you’d…” Florence started.
“I’d be nothing, I’d be the one working for McDonald’s and you’d be the pop star probably.” He finished. She gazed up at him and he smirked at her in a duck face kind of way. Florence made a duck sound and they burst into fits of giggles.
Nick knocked on the door. “Come in.” Florence yelled.
The door opened, “Florence, can I talk to Dan? I won’t hurt him I promise, okay?”
Florence nodded, rolled off the bed and went out.
“I’m sorry, I over reacted and I shouldn’t have hurt you so badly.”
“Sure whatever, we need to tell Florence it’s her mum. She says she looks familiar and she deserves to know.”
“You don’t understand Dan, we can’t.” Nick insisted.
“Is there something you’re not telling me then?” Dan answered.
“Some thing’s we cannot tell people, or we hide it from them as much as we can.”
“She’ll hate me; we have to tell her it’s the right thing to do.” Dan demanded.
“I really don’t like you. I’ll talk to Mara.” Nick said walking out.
