Afterwards, Nick and Florence sat in the canteen in the corner.
“I wish Daniel were here.” She complained.
“Why? Am I that boring?” Nick replied.
“No, no, I just miss him. You’re fine.”
“Then walk out of here and see him.”
“They monitor me when I go out, if I talk to him they will take him in and probably kill him and I can’t let that happen.”
“You weren’t monitored before.”
“Mum chose not to tell Zach. Nick I can’t do anything, if we can get away with him being there at the scan then that will be the last time I see him.”
“Walk out of here.”
“Have you been listening to me?”
“Yes, but all logic says to go out and see him. You and him need to be together during the pregnancy.”
“Try telling that to Zach.”
“Dan could stay here.”
“So… you want to trap us all in here.”
“You said you wished he was here, I was giving some ideas.”
“Just forget it, I don’t want to risk the life of this baby and the baby is what comes first.” Florence started getting emotional.
“Florence, don’t cry.” He was a little late as she ran out crying.
She ran into Zach and Mara. “I’m sorry.” She mumbled.
“What’s wrong?” Mara put her hand on her shoulder.
“Nothing’s wrong, I’m fine.” Florence brushed her mother’s hand off her shoulder and continued to her cell.
She cried until there were no tears left, and she fell asleep.
Dan smiled at her when she opened her eyes. “Hello beautiful, I’ve missed you.” He whispered and she felt her lips curl upwards as she wrapped her arms around him.
