Midnight came.
Florence was awake, sat there shivering under thin covers.
She had forgotten how bad the nights were here.
Nick had already disabled the cameras to show clear rooms and corridors. He walked round the front to meet Dan.
Dan had his face covered by a purple snood. Nick tried not to laugh.
“Ready?” Dan asked.
“Sure! I beat them up then you tie them and make sure they don’t run whilst I go get Florence.”
“Great.”
Nick walked in and was swift about beating the officers up. He called Dan in to tie the men up. Nick’s heart was racing he wanted to see Florence so badly.
Florence heard some groaning noises and stood up in her holding cell, she was alone and scared.
Suddenly, she saw a man through the bars struggling with an officer who was soon sprawled unconscious on the floor. The man pulled the officer and sat him against the wall.
He turned slowly and locked eyes with Florence.
Florence stared for a long while and then tears started rolling over her cheeks.
Nick walked towards her and smirked. He opened the barred doors.
“Hello Florrie.” He stroked her cheek.
She slapped him. “I thought you were dead, you were dead.”
“I became a spy and I’m breaking so many rules right now just to save you.”
“You’re real?” Florence poked his arm. Nick nodded and held her for a moment. He released her and walked back into the corridor.
“We need to go soon; we need you to be safe. I mean you’ve had easier threats to deal with.”
Florence ignored all her feelings of doubt, walked up to him, put her hands either side of his face and planted her lips on his. Nick felt no need to pull away.
Footsteps came and stopped. Dan couldn’t talk, he just watched.
