Florence bandaged Gwen's leg up to stop her from bleeding everywhere. She washed her hands and locked herself in the bathroom.
She curled up in the corner and cried.
Gwen's words haunted her. "Zachary Erickson."
Not only had her mother lied to her, it meant she was conspiring with the Operative, but why?
"Florence are you okay?" Mara asked.
"Yeah just cleaning my hands." She turned the tap on, wiped around her eyes and walked out. "Ready." She forced a smile.
"Sure." Mara smiled back, "It's just you and me now."
Florence felt scared, nervous and uncomfortable however she did well to hide it. She had experience from when she was with Gavin and had to hide her feelings from Dan.
"Are you okay?" Florence jumped at her mother's words.
"Oh, I'm just worried about Daniel and Nicholas."
"They'll be fine dear." Mara assured her. Florence was having a hard time believing that, they were walking into a trap and leaving her was a trap.
She started massaging her temples with her fingers. Her mind rewound back to the conversation she had had with her mum, she had been nervous talking about Zach and she called him by his full name, was she with him? Did she leave dad?
"I'm gonna hurl." Florence said and stuck her head out of the window. She felt sorry for the passing cars as their windscreens must've been covered but she was too dizzy to realize. She washed the acidic taste out of her mouth.
Mara passed her some minty chewing gum. Florence yanked it out of her hand and turned in her seat to face the window, she let the wind flow through her hair. She closed her eyes and imagined she wasn't there, that she was away with Dan again.
A few months ago...
"SOUTH AFRICA, MY BLOOOOOD!!!" Dan exclaimed with a massive grin on his face.
"That's it I'm moving here...the weather is great and it's beautiful." Florence said jumping off the last step of the plane.
"I've only been a few times but I'll show you what I know and we can see everything and and and... this is so very amazing!!!" He was pretty excited.
