CHAPTER FORTY SEVEN
“To stay. I’m staying, Avalon.”
I continued to stare on him as my mind process the information he just blurted out few seconds ago. He said he decided to stay. He said he’s staying. Wait..
“You what?” I asked, incredulous.
“I said I’m staying. Ayokong sumama kila Atlas at Silas.” Determinadong sabi ni Wave. One part of me is happy because he wants to stay but the other part is not.
When I think about Atlas and Silas who risk their lives just to find and bring back Wave to their own world knowing that danger awaits them into this world prevents me to become fully happy.
Why does he have to tell me this when I’ve decided that I’ll find a way to bring them back? When I already accepted the fact that they’ll be gone and probably not meeting them again..
“What? Why not?”
He was in pain when they met!
“I’ll hide. Iiwasan ko na magkasalubong kami ni Michael. Mag-iingat ako para hindi kami magkita..”
I bit my lower lip as I shook my head, “Hindi ganoon kadali, Wave. You can’t just simply do that..”
“I can and I will, Avalon.” Determinadong sabi ni Wave. I look straight to his eyes as I swallowed the lump which starting to form in my throat.
“How about Atlas and Silas?
Nag-iwas ng tingin sakin si Wave bago magsalita, “I never asked them to that..”
You’re being selfish!” Hindi ko napigilang mapataaas ang boses ko.
“I’m just being honest!” He yelled back, “I’m just being honest and want to follow what my heart wants! What I want!”
I bit my lower lip to prevent myself from crying.. to prevent myself to voice out what I truly want.. to prevent myself to agree on his decision..
He looked straight to my eyes like he was trying to penetrate my soul as he whispered the words which made me weak, “And I want to stay, Avalon. Here in this world.. to where you belong.. just beside you..”
It’s like a sealed faucet that suddenly got broken and the water started to come out non-stop.. Tuloy-tuloy lang ang pag-agos.. walang tigil..
Wave hugged me tight as I felt him kissed the side of my head. I inhaled Wave’s scent which instantly calmed me down. As expected of his scent.. my very own sedating drug..
“Wave..” I croaked, “Please..”
The hurt look on his face squeeze my heart before his face hardened.
“No,” he coldly said, “My decision is final and you can’t do anything about it, Avalon. I can do whatever or anything that you want but not that one. Not this time..”
