CHAPTER FIFTY FOUR
“..lon.”
“..valon..”
“Avalon..”
I stirred awake as I continued to hear a soft voice calling my name.
“Gumising ka..”
“Avalon..”
I slowly opened my eyes and an unknown place welcomed me. I can’t even feel the four corners of the room. No walls. No windows. No doors. The place is almost pitch black with small glittering light from far away..
It’s like I’m on the outer space..
“Avalon..”
I quickly whipped my head when I heard that same soft voice again.
“Avalon..”
I look to my right and saw a full-length mirror which appeared out of nowhere. My reflection stared back at me and strangely, for unknown reason, my reflection felt different. Like someone else’s owns the reflection in front of me.
I was about to take my eyes off the mirror when I noticed how my reflection’s lips slightly curved upward. What’s happening? I’m not smiling!
“Avalon.” She called and I was taken aback for a second.
“Wh..Who are you?”
“Kailangan mong bumalik..”
“What? What do you mean?”
“Kailangan mong makabalik bago mahuli ang lahat..”
I don’t understand. Anong nangyayari? Anong ibig nyang sabihin? Go back? Where?
“It’s about to happen again.. you need to wake up before it’s too late..”
My reflection started to slowly fade away like a smoke but her voice continued to linger on my ears.
“Sandali! Anong ibig mong sabihin?” I called out.
“My story was tragic, Avalon. And I don’t want it to happen to you.. and please, I hope you can forgive him..”
With that last sentence my reflection completely fade away as well as my surroundings. My reflection’s voice lingered on my ears until realization hit me.
No. Not my reflection to be exact. It was the reflection of a girl who I thought I will never meet.
My doppelganger..
My eyes fluttered open. This time, for real. I can hear a beeping machine beside my bed and I’m not that stupid to ask where I am.
I smiled weakly.
My eyes shifted on his fluffy hair. Ruffling his hair is kinda tempting but I still feel so weak that even lifting my hand will be impossible.
