CHAPTER FIFTY THREE
“Don’t you.. Don’t you dare, Avalon! Don’t you dare take another step away from me! I swear I will not forgive you!”
I didn’t listen to him. I swallowed hard and with a heavy heart I took another step away, and another, and another, and another until I’m almost at the barricade of the bridge.
“I have questions to you, Mikael.” I stated as I look straight on his eyes.
“Ano ‘yon, Ava?” He softly asked with a smile on his face.
“What do you think Averill will tell you if she can see you right now? What will be her reaction? Will she like what you’ve become to? Magiging masaya ba sya?”
Sure, we share the same face, the same personality but we’re different person. Because you’re making your own sadness, Mikael. You will eventually feel that I’m not Averill and that will cause you another pain and loneliness.”
“St..Stop talking.”
“You need to accept the reality, Mikael. You need to accept the pain for you to move on. Averill is dead and you will never, ever make her come back just by replacing her by me because I will never love you like the way she did..”
“I said stop talking!” He yelled.
“You’re like a sick person, Mikael. Wanting to be cured, searching for medicine but ended up with poison. And I will be that poison, Mikael. Be my guest. I will make sure that you’ll be forever in pain.” I spat full of hatred towards him. Even I don’t know where’s this bravado coming from.
Masamang tingin ang binigay sakin ni Mikael and for a moment I became scared.
“Jump!” He said.
“Jump or somebody’s gonna beheaded tonight.” He threatened.
I swallowed hard as I put a foot on the barricade. This bridge.. I didn’t know that this freaking bridge will have a huge significance in my life.
From the very beginning.. until now.. why does this bridge have to witness all the drama in my life? It sucks.
I stared at black raging sea. One mistake and everything will be done. Everything.. magiging maayos na ang lahat..
I closed my eyes as I inhaled the sea breeze and prepared for the fall.
I am ready.
No. I was ready.
But someone grabbed my waist and pull me off the barricade of the bridge.
“I will never forgive you, Avalon.” Seryosong sabi nya bago unti-unting lumambot ang mukha nya at niyakap ako ng mahigpit, “You’ll be the death of me. Don’t do that again, please.” He pleaded as I felt his hot breath on my neck.
