If only I knew that I was about to make space for new people to enter my life I wouldn't go out, because let's face it! I'm not the type of person that goes out or people particularly like. I'm not being pessimistic since it's actually true.
I cried and cried on a wooden chair that I sat on. Watching my long dyed hair fall on the ground. Yes, it's a completely normal thing, girls who have long hair cry once it's being cut. Because look, our hair has memories, we grew it ourselves and took great care of it as much as we complain how much we hate it, we actually love it so much. "Stop complaining! You knew it was going to happen." Exclaimed my mom, I will be honest with you, I wasn't looking forward to paying 250 dollars to redye my hair once again and besides nowadays I kept on picturing myself with short hair.
I calmed down and wiped my tears away. It took around 40 minutes until I looked in the mirror and admired my short natural colored hair. The brown curls covered parts of my face and fell in my eyes. They nicely contrasted with my skin and enhanced the shape of my face. I looked younger, WAY younger which wasn't pretty convenient in my case since I'm almost a 16 year old girl and they still don't let me into PG13 movies. My new hairstyle just made it worse. I didn't have my natural hair color for such a long time. I forgot what I looked like without all the dye.
"And?" I asked looking back at my mom, she stopped cleaning all the hair from the floor and she glanced at me with a smile, " You look like an angel. Go show your sister and Vicky," I went for a hug and thanked her once again then I proceeded to trot my way up the stairs to see my sister and her best friend.
Emily was in her room talking with Vicky so I knocked on the door and entered. Both of them gasped and came close to me. They began touching it and telling me how cute it was and all that sort of girly crap. I honestly felt like a poodle not that I'm complaining though. I liked my hair and my new haircut, it's just the fact that I will miss the dye and my punk look. It was cool.
"We are going to the park today to see Emily's new 'crush' you wanna come with us?" Asked Vicky. I shook my head no since I didn't really feel like going out and meeting new people, even though I technically knew the guy. He was from my sisters grade; Isaiah together with Adam told me a lot about him. I knew what was going to happen anyway- smoking, gossiping and perhaps even drinking. Not my type of thing.
I spent more time with them until I decided to leave and do my thing. I Skyped Adam since I wanted to show off my new hair, obviously him being him, he didn't notice at first. I had to tell him. He loved it though, " You look way better with short hair Lou," he complimented, I smiled and gently placed one of the curls behind my ear. " Thank you.." I replied, the boy smiled and we continued talking. I loved doing it, Adam and I always Skyped for hours just talking about bullshit and laughing our asses off about everything and anything for literally no reason. I didn't even notice that it was starting to get dark outside.
Emily and Vicky already left to the park like an hour ago. Surprisingly! I didn't get any call or text from them that I should come rescue them because they're about to get kidnapped. It always happens so I was used to it. Adam had to go for chemistry tuitions so we had to end the call, sadly. I got up from my chair and jumped on my bed, burying my face in the pillows and taking a deep breath, smelling the bed sheets.
It was past 7 pm already and then I got a call from Emily. I guess it was time to help them escape.
L- SPEAK!
E- You have to come to the park.
L- Is it an emergency? Are you guys getting kidnapped?
E- Haha! No, but we are with someone who you might want to meet...
L- Who?
E- Bruce...
L- Who the fuck is Bruce?!
E- His brother...
I got enlightened, I forgot that he had a brother. The idea circulated in my head for a couple seconds until I made up my mind and said.
L- I'm coming.
E- Alright, see you there.
She ended the call and I got up from my bed; opened my wardrobe and pulled out the first 'Normal' looking clothes that I found and sprinted out of the house.
*not really, it just sounded cool. *
I reached the park in 10 minuets, however! I had to be a moron and spend another 10 minuets just walking in circles rethinking my choice and whether it's actually a good idea. I had to answer another call from my sister before I actually went to them. She told me the directions and I followed as she said.
There they were, a small group of people sitting on the cold grass, surrounded by the street lights and other groups of teenagers. I happily walked towards them, " Hi! I'm Lou." I introduced myself as I made a circle around them looking for a place to sit. I sat next to Vicky and looked at the people that sat with us.
I already knew which one of them was Bruce, it wasn't that hard to realize.A really tall guy with typical 'fuck boy' haircut. He wore a cap on top of his head and was dressed in white. His earrings gracefully shimmered with the street lights and a metal chain decorated his neck and collarbones. The boy had a bottle of Mountain Dew in his left hand and a lit cigarette in his right hand. He took a puff from it and exhaled a cloud of smoke.
The chatter continued, I kept on eyeing Emily's crush and Bruce. Both of them kept on disappearing to talk somewhere then coming back with more people. At one point I began feeling really uncomfortable. I'm not a huge fan of crowded places, in fact they are the things that I avoid the most.
We sat there for another 15 minuets until some really creepy dudes came and started hitting on me and Vicky. They asked us for our snaps and phone numbers, it was super weird. They had a weird bag with them, I'm sure it was filled with drugs or alcohol. One of them opened it and pulled out a bottle of vodka.
I hate being right.
Bruce began to notice that something wasn't right so he took Vicky, Emily, her crush and I to a cafe that was surprisingly close to the park. We sat there for a little longer and chatted about random stupid things. I figured that it's time I should be going home so I gave Emily a signal; she nodded in response and got up. The guys understood and got up with us. They began hugging us goodbye and when it was my turn to say bye to Bruce he had to bent down so much that it's a miracle his back didn't break in half. "God you're so tall" I said and he chuckled in response.
We left the park. Vicky and Emily just talked about how hot the guys are and I was just walking by their side thinking about the people I just met.
To be completely honest with you. I knew this was a start of something beautiful, I'm always right about these sort of things, I just didn't know how long it's going to last...
